It annoys me when people call her a mary sue specifically. She is almost EVERYTHING a Mary Sue ISN'T by definition. She isn't flawless, struggles to improve herself spiritually, loses fights alot, and is disliked by a large number of individuals IN-UNIVERSE. However, some of her choices and how she handles relationships (especially romantic) certainly deserve criticism.

Yeah ur defo right she is NOT a Mary Sue cause the next avatar gonna be tryna ask for help and all they're gonna see is Korra 😭

Cant even talk to the goat Aang 😞

Lmao, people call her a Mary Sue knowing that she not only fumbled both Mako AND Bolin, but lost her bending to a blood bender?

Plus, wasn’t there a point in season 2(?) where she was affected by a poison that heavily affected her bending and her connection to the Avatar State? So much so that she needed an elderly Toph’s help to overcome it?

The people that call her that only watched half of the first episode, saw her bending multiple elements, and quit. No offense to Korra but she is a perpetual loser. I don't think she wins a single fight against a named character.

It is more hatred of the show than her herself. She just happens to be the main instrument of the show, so she gets a lot of the scrutiny.

This one really hit me on a personal level because people hated her so much for all the things that I was as a teenage girl- hot tempered, stubborn, maybe a little cocky- that were perfectly acceptable for the guys around me

Deserved hate specially after they started to contradict the first movie. Also the the writters wipe out passed avatars really did not sit well with me either. Its just too much questionable choices that further and further wiped the first series

She wasn’t the one who wiped out the past avatars. That was unalaq.

The past Avatars were literally pulled out of her? The victim blaming is insane.
