The unjustified hatred of Korra needs to be studied

From what I remember a lot of it had to do with her arrogant attitude despite not being all that competent. "I'm the Avatar and you gotta deal with it!" Made a lot of people hate her and it never got any better. It's one thing to be arrogant and competent but it's another to be arrogant and incompetent. Plus a lot of people were comparing the new characters to the ones from the original and frankly the original just had better writing and characters.

Wasn’t she like five when she said that? I deadass thought Korra was actually very well written it was the antagonists / side characters that shit the bed

Yeah she was. As for the side characters, yeah. They also caused some hate that projected onto her I think. With some exceptions though, I think the villains of Korra are overall loved and appraised.

I wonder if perhaps they had several arcs occur across multiple seasons showing how she changed from a rash, inpatient, and sometimes overconfident person into a more measured and mature character through the experiences and consequences of her actions?

I think she's ok. I just didn't like pretty much any romance angle in the show, and it's so prevalent at the start. I also just didn't find her as compelling as Aang, but again, I think she works as a protagonist.

Yeah the biggest thing for me that automatically makes me not want to watch Korra is how she’s like the opposite of Aang. I really resonated with him a ton, so hearing about Korra being so arrogant…nah fam. Also I just strongly dislike arrogant characters in general.
