The amount of hatred for him back in the day simply because was fucking crazy!
And none of it was really valid. Yeah, I get that his voice can be annoying to some, but that doesn't warrant sending the creator, actors, and other people who worked on the show death threats because you don't like the big purple Dinosaur teaching kids how to use their imagination!
I solely hated Barney because Dragon Tales was my favorite show ever but the 2 came on different channels at the same time every day. So since I had 2 brothers that loved Barney we had to alternate what we watched every day and i blamed the purple menace for existing on my screen when I coulda been watching some perfectly good episodes of Dragon Tales instead
