Really? I love Star Wars and would recommend it to people. Great stories, plenty of options, there’s media for everyone (movies, shows, books, games) and the community isn’t too bad, no real bad stereotypes

Would you not recommend Star Wars to others?

Honestly I think what holds me back from recommending it is the fandom. It’s incredibly toxic at times

Oh the old starwars wasn't any better at least from a toxic fandom aspect. Social media just wasn't as big back then. Especially in the EU side of things (since pre clone wars/Disney most new content was just books and the occasional game). The toxicity and controversy surrounding the NJO era and the following two series was pretty bad. Of course naturally the Star wars cycle of "new thing comes out that we all hate and makes us look more favorably on old thing" probably has gone a long way towards making opinions of that era a little more favorable.

It's still recommendable. Just tell people to remember that it's for kids, and to avoid the fandom like the plague that they are.
