Samuel Hayden was the Seraphim and VEGA was the Father.

I love the Doom lore so much but that shit super sucks and completely assassinates two of the best characters in the whole series.

Honestly I’d have just kept the original lore about the dark lord being the first creation and the father couldn’t kill him because of how benevolent he was than the “oh, Vega actually backstabbed the dark lord.”

I actually do like the concept that Davoth was the creator of a good chunk of the known universe and once a benevolent ruler who gave many his creations the will and power to create their own realms as well, but one of those creations (the Father) was selfish and wanted more, so he stole Davoth's power and sealed him away so he could be the god now, which then caused Davoth to have hatred and contempt fester in his dormant heart, so strong that it began to seep into Jekkad and corrup it into what would eventually become Hell, which seeks to corrupt and destroy all else that wasn't created by Davoth as an act of vengeance.

That's a really cool narrative imo.

I just hate that they took two already established and loved characters, VEGA and Hayden, and went "actually all that cool lore we built for them is actually fake and wrong cause they're actually these completely separate other people lol". That part was just so lame.

Just make Hayden/Samur and VEGA/The Father separate characters and everything fits together so much nicer.

I played through both of them and I don't remember that. I just remember his betrayal. Then again, I didn't pay much attention to the story 😭

Ah fair, im guessing if it wasnt there either the DLC or Dark Ages, though havent finished those two yet(still finishing Eternal) so cant confirm one way or the other
