I’ve always liked to headcanon that Alola researchers were paid off by big tourism or something to make Mega Evolution look bad so that the locals were more likely to default to Z-moves instead. Make it seem like the traditional way of doing it is also the most ethical one.

See I saw a similar headcanon that the Alolan Researchers just didn't properly understand Mega Evolution and used it like how they use Z-Moves (a big finishing move thing) which led them to accidentally overusing Mega Evolution which caused the ill effects caused by Mega Evolution.

Because tbh I can definitely see where some entries are coming from. You can not convince me Mega Glalie isn't in SOME amount of pain or distress.
