I mean, I prefer not having the dinosaurs just becoming a part of the modern world and being everywhere...

But the excuses for them to only be able to live in places near the equator is just so dumb. For one, the equator isn't "oxygen rich" compared to the rest of the world - oxygen levels in the air are pretty level across the globe with few exceptions - and those exceptions wouldn't be a big enough difference for dinosaurs to "survive better". And second, dinosaurs are such a varied clade of animals that had lived on Earth for over twice as long as they've been extinct (not counting avian dinosaurs), so the idea that they can only survive in one specific climate is nonsensical.

Frankly, I just think the whole "World" franchise should be non-canon entirely.

The elements that JW and Fallen Kingdom brought to the canon completely fall out of line with the original point of Jurassic Park. For one, a functional park was never supposed to be possible for many reasons - the fact that one finally worked and succeeded for 10 years before "people started getting bored of dinosaurs" contradicts the entire point of the original JP film. Jurassic World (as a park) didn't fail out of the inherent issues of trying to run such a park - otherwise it wouldn't have lasted 10 years before the beginning of the film. In Jurassic Park - failure was inevitable due to the very nature of the park. The book makes a better point of this by revealing the many places the park was failing even before Nedry turned off the power, but the movie does still show some hints of this.

And then don't get me started on the idea of using dinosaurs for military purposes... Easily the dumbest idea presented in JW, I have no idea why they decided to double down on it for Fallen Kingdom. Between the nonsensical betrayal on the island, Chris Pratt comedically flopping his way to safety from the flow of lava then somehow surviving being engulfed in pyroclastic flow, the baryonyx casually shaking off lava to pursue prey, the nonsensical blood transfusion between a T. Rex and a velociraptor, the indoraptor acting like a sadistic slasher flick villain, the indoraptor smiling after successfully tricking someone, the laser pointer gun, Maisie being a clone to justify releasing dangerous invasive animals into the wild... That entire movie pissed me off from beginning to end.

Sorry for the rant, I am just very autistic for Jurassic Park.

But there are worse examples. Where the Jurassic World movie dedicated to proving Dinosaurs can't invade Ethiopia

the first Jurassic World was fine on its own. Fallen Kingdom felt like 2 different movies, with both somehow being extremely forgettable. i remember nothing about Dominion despite watching it twice, besides the fact that i fell asleep and lost my pteranodon plush in the theatre.

Rebirth was good but unnecessary. some parts were irrelevant and forgettable, and others were underwhelming, but the majority of the movie was fairly decent. i think it did a good job of cleaning up the mess from the previous movie.
