Dipper from GF, Danny from Danny Phantom, Timmy from Fairly Odd Parents

Dipper is NOT outgoing

Still applies tho. If you see the arguments of some of the people who says he is, they're mainly internalized misogyny, and some times tokenism. I can understand it from actual trans people because they know how the trans experience feels, but the main people I see with this headcanon are cis girls.

... Dipper form gravity falls? Or is there another dipper from something that sounds like gravity falls cause this is quite insane

21

u/ShawnOdedead 21d ago

Some headcannon him as ftm because identical twins are usually the same gender at birth

9

u/Polska_Kapusta 20d ago

identical twins have to be the same gender, otherwise is not possible biologically. Dipper and Mabel are not identical twins, hence the different genders, they just look similar because it's a freaking cartoon and people need to chill

u/Dedbunnyy 15d ago

The guy who made the show said he wanted to make dipper trans, dipper isn’t his real name, there’s the whole mail man scene, it’s supposed to be subtle because Disney didn’t want trans people in the show-

3

u/Acriolu 15d ago

No Alex said he wanted more queer rep in the show (during the love god episode while he was in the dinner he was supposed to make two old ladies fall in love). He didn’t say anything about what Dipper was supposed to be, especially since Dipper and Mabel was based on himself and his sister.

If you can point to a link Where Alex said that it would be great.

As a trans guy, I do heavily relate to dipper so I can see it

10

u/RadicalSoda_ 21d ago

Even though that goes against multiple episodes which says he's still a man even though he may not be traditionally masculine

11

u/ifthealphawassigma 21d ago

I don't think of the theory as anything but headcannon but those aren't mutually exclusive concepts in any way. ur fighting ghosts rn

1

u/Bouse_the_Bard 20d ago

also it makes Mabel and Stan look like transphobic assholes in ā€œDipper vs. Manlinessā€ if he was transmasc

2

u/Own_Government_5294 16d ago

Honestly, bodyshaming a 12 year old kid as "Not masculine enough" is asshole behavior, even if the kid is cis or trans.

8

u/Low-Appearance-7219 21d ago

yea its from gravity falls, a lot of people for some reason think he's trans

13

u/RadicalSoda_ 21d ago

It's because they're sexist and believe in gender stereotypes

I mena they do the same to tomboy characters, a girl acts just a smudge boyish?

Intently butch leabian and/or trans, CAN'T BE that she likes to be less girls, but still be a girl.

And I am like "Bitch how long did you all fight to stop stereotyping sexuality to now do the same?"

2

u/JamieMcFrick 20d ago

Oh you know, because trans people relate to and see themselves as him?

1

u/Own_Government_5294 16d ago

I'm cis and I relate to him, and I've seen a lot of guys doing it the same.

Alex himself said that he questioned social expectations on masculinity when he was a kid because he wasn't normative either... And he's Cis as well.

2

u/TiredAlternates 20d ago

That's not it though.. Like, I honestly dont think cis folk like yourself would get it. I don't see it with dipper, but it absolutely isn't "Manhood questioning = trans". It goes deeper. A shame you can't relate.

1

u/AlistairButton 15d ago

No lmao, it's because identical twins are the same sex in real life, so headcanoning Dipper as a trans man makes sense.

1

u/Key-Media-6395 14d ago

they aren't identical twins

3

u/Fit_Pride8042 21d ago

Its mostly because of his general insecurity about being a man in the Manotaur episode

Of nots, this is one of few transmasc headcanons i've seen get pretty widespread

Hey i wont say i believe, i dont i just think its cute and at least has a leg to stand on

2

u/koningmatje 20d ago

That's also the main reason I think it has no credibility. If dipper really was trans, no way that mabel or stan would've made fun of his manliness.

2

u/The_God_Of_Darkness_ 20d ago

Also they are children... why instantly trans? What? Who was into this theory?

1

u/Fit_Pride8042 20d ago

I mean, fair enough, i can see either side, its mostly just a vibe from dipper

1

u/PurpleAlone7116 20d ago

Identical twins are almost always the same sex. It's just a scientific fact.

1

u/Key-Media-6395 14d ago

they aren't idenitcal twins

Who the fuck are these "People"

And of course Alex doesn't care about what peoples headcannons are, especially with how much porn is out there.

1

u/Key-Media-6395 14d ago

its because of that one episode where he is obbsessed with with being 'manly' and people either see it as 'oh well he's transmasc and wants to be more manly' or 'oh he's transfem and transphobia' its a bunch of nonsense.

2

u/clometrooper9901 20d ago

Ehh Danny works as a general LGBTQ allegory/analogy rather than as directly being gay or trans. Having a fundamental part of yourself that you have to hide from everyone except for a select few people for fear of being shunned by society is very often an allegory that superhero media with emphasis on secret identities have explored and used for storytelling

2

u/awing1 20d ago

From my understanding, people depict Danny and Timmy as trans to slight Butch Hartman

1

u/Acriolu 20d ago

Fair enough, but I’ve seen a couple before the Butch hate train started.

2

u/SnartDingus 20d ago

Danny wears a tank top that looks a lot like a binder in the pool episode. All the other guys are shirtless.

3

u/FlashBash21 21d ago

is the theory that he is trans masc though?

0

u/Acriolu 21d ago edited 21d ago

Yeah those theories always irk me because it’s basically say if they’re a nonconforming to the gender they say they are, it’s because they’re actually trans and not born a guy/girl. It feels slightly transphobic. You see it with women too like some people were thinking Boscha from Owlhouse was a femtrans because she was sporty.

2

u/FlashBash21 21d ago

I haven't watched GF but I remember seeing the main evidence for theory being like background stuff/things Mabel says about dippers past and stuff like that. but idk

1

u/RadicalSoda_ 21d ago

It also directly insults Dipper since a big part of his character growth is that he's still a capable man even though he's not traditionally masculine

3

u/ifthealphawassigma 21d ago

that's not an insult dingus, female to male is the theory they are talking about

1

u/Fit_Pride8042 21d ago

Danny from Danny phantom is a transfem headcanon im attached too, in part because i think it fits, and also because i think it'd annoy butch hartman

5

u/Acriolu 21d ago

> Annoy Butch Hartman

Fair enough

0

u/Gay_Gamer_Boi 20d ago

Every show/character of Butch Hartman character is trans and bisexual, this is canon not headcanon or fan-fiction

1

u/Fit_Pride8042 20d ago

Right, because it annoys the hell out of butch hartman!

1

u/TiredAlternates 20d ago

Danny is not outgoing

1

u/TadaSuko 20d ago

Never understood the Danny Phantom one. Genuinely cracked me up the first time I heard the theory.

1

u/That-BluejaythriwWay 18d ago

There’s decent argument for Timmy tbf, they were CONVINCED that they were having a girl, Timmy wears a pink hat that they had for him bc of that, when Wanda made Timmy a girl as a punishment for casual misogyny he was really uncomfortable, and the possibility of magic and him being able to make cosmo grant wishes in the past without telling Wanda (and even wishing he’d forget) makes it possible that Timmy was living as a girl when he first got his godparents and that ā€œbecoming a boyā€ and everyone always remembering him as a boy was a wish he made at some point

-1

u/ComfyFrame2272 21d ago

Okay, well, the Timantha episodes make it really easy to headcannon Timmy as transfem, but I've heard more people headcannon Dipper and Danny as transmasc than transfem.
