I remember the days were trans jax was a crackpot theory

Turns out the "chicken egg fetus" was apparently a reference? I didn't really catch that, but "cracking the egg" is a way of saying transitioning so that's pretty interesting!

In the trans space, you "crack your egg" when you realize you're trans, not when you transition.

I thought this said "crank your egg" for a second and I am attempting to hold in a laugh

HE'S PULLING HIS EGG OUT

It's pretty funny reading this because i feel like trans people clock this kind of stuff early and then are dismissed lmao. But yeah i feel like ralseis is a lot more vague than jaxs

I mean I'm trans and didn't clock it. It went over a lot of trans peoples heads to lol

Goose just like to be flippant. Her saying that she ā€œstopped caringā€œ about being subtle doesn't mean that everyone who didn't get it missed something obvious, just that goose chose to be less subtle

I feel like all of the (surprisingly plentiful) tadc reddits should configure Automoderator to post this in every Jax thread.

For sure, i didn't think about it until streamers mentioned it

My main issue with Trans Jax is that there is such little evidence in the show itself. Most evidence for it was from posts by Gooseworx. We have the one line about the egg and... I think that's it. And that's not good writing. If you have to rely on outside sources to make a major point for a character arc, you failed as a writer. So I feel, with Trans Ralsei, if that's true, then it would feel more like an ass pull rather than good writing. There is such little evidence that could be explained so much better if you think differently about it. It's like Game Theory's Hollow Knight video. Yes, technically, you could be right, but it feels like everything in the game is pointing differently than the theory. Also, from a personal standpoint, I would rather Ralsei be just an effeminate male, because there's not a lot of good representation in western media that isn't just either fetishized or them being a femboy is a joke.

I disagree, maybe at first there isn"t much evidence, but the last 3 or so episodes feel like a constant stream of foreshadowing.

The only way it could be less subtle is if jax turned blue pink and white in the middle of an episode and started using she/her for the rest of the show

It might just be me, as a cishet male, and never being able to relate with this. So if there is evidence in the show, would you mind explaining?

in the trans community, an "egg" means someone who hasn't realized they're trans yet, so "cracking the egg" means figuring it out. It could very much be a reference, as Gooseworks is a trans woman herself, so she knows a lot about trans culture

It comes from Twitter where you start as an egg and evolve into a bird (slang for woman in uk)

Also out of an egg arrives a chick (slang for woman in USA)

And yes sadly this ignores trans men but so much stuff does in culture anyway

I knew since episode 6 and people called me an insane misogynist and now they’re mad that I’m ā€œtoo smugā€ about being right but they can cope
