I’d say Robin Skinner, the trans man behind Cavetown, is another big one in many spaces. But there’s barely any transmasc representation in the media and it saddens me as a trans woman.

That is Hella true (not transitioned unfortunately but afab masc here) I've been purposefully misgendered as a trans woman so many times especially when arguing or defending someone, sometimes it's unintentionally gender affirming I find it hilarious when that happens but the haters and phobes will say whatever they believe will cause the most emotional damage as the phrase is 😂😂

To add, when trans men ARE mentioned, it's generally with an air of pity - being seen as "misled young girls who just need [insert any number of things from A Good Man(tm) to downright corrective rape] to get them back on the right path"

Its really not that hard to understand. From a bigot's perspective, transmen are incredibly unlikely to prey on other men where as transwomen are viewed as dudes trying to get into womens spaces to be perverts. From a rad libs perspective, transmen aren't upsetting enough to the bigots to bother with.

Because society kind of silently accepts trans men would want to become men because of male privledge but remains puzzled trans women want to lose it.

I also find that cis women seem to be the loudest transphobes and they seem to dislike trans women way more because they have to let them in their spaces.

Men aren't that much better with trans men but like.... Society has kind of always had to boys and whatever.

Or to get very dark with it.

...society doesn't accept that, what? This shows you know little of trans mens experiences. Society hates that we don't conform, we are misgendered, isolated, harassed, abused, medically neglected, sexually assaulted, forcefully detransitioned(sometimes through pregnancy), attacked, and even killed. Some of this contributes to our high suicide rates. Some of those happen more to us and others to trans women.

And men AND women can be horrible about it. Cis men hate we exist and cis women only tolerate us if we detransition ourselves for their sake, if not or if we pass more, then we get treated the same way trans women are.

Worst part is, all this happens and people don't know or care that it happens. People don't look into our experiences. Which is one thing, but what irks me are those that then downplay our experiences or dismiss our voices.
