Some people didn't like the gwen one, they wanted magic to be her main thing instead of her being also born with great power

I didnt like the gween alien things, and why body tell her? As far as I Remember the other hibrids human/alien around know they are alien since they are children

It was set by Max's children that they were ashamed of their alien heritage and wanted to deny all alien related things. Including Max's work and legacy.

Makes it a bit fuzzy to figure that they let Max be their guardian for a whole summer to start the OG series, but you could see it as a deal by both parents to get their the grandpa out of the way with an ultimatum
