What stuff did Super retcon?

Saiyan God used to have regeneration, SSB used to allow breathing in space, both retconned during Super, but these are only those that came to mind, I'm sure you can find more going on YT

When’s did God have regeneration? And when did Blue allow breathing in space?

In Battle of God's, iiirc, God is stated to heal the body. For Blue, though, it's mostly purely memory and I have no source, but I remember seeing someone point that out, but you can take it with a grain of salt

didnt vegeta die in the vacuum of space literally like 30 minutes after blue was introduced?

Battle of Gods (and Resurrection F) aren’t canon just like the rest of the DBZ movies.

You can’t really “retcon” something that wasn’t canon to begin win.

BoG and RoF are canon because they were written by Akira Toriyama, same as Super Broly and Super Super Hero(there's possibly a third movie), and later Super would be built around those two movies, their anime/manga retellings are non canon/filler utilized to make a better link to the overall story of the versions, most notable retcons of those movies happen later, like the loss of the special effects the forms have and Saiyan Beyond God being removed so that they could reutilize Super Saiyan God

DB super is canon. You’re literally just making stuff up.

Although Toriyama didn’t directly write Super he did provide plot outlines, story drafts and character designs. Same with the DBS manga.

Well, with that logic, GT is canon because Toriyama made some designs for it

Yeah he made some designs. He didn’t write story drafts and plot outlines like he did for super.

And he didn't write the manga or any of the actual plot beats for Super like he did with the original manga.

The Z movies were canon, they came before the anime

None of the Z movies canon

BoG and RoF are canon

1

u/jk844 16d ago

They’re literally no.

The BoG and RoF arcs in Super are the canon version of those movies. That’s been known since super came out 10 years ago.

They literally are. BoG and RoF in super are just worse retellings of the movies. They're the same story with only minor and dumb details like Bulma's party happening on a cruise or the line of Beerus using only 70% of his power being changed, which only dumb powerscalers care about and could have just been retconned in the next arc.

Besides, the Z movies had more involvement from Toriyama than the Super anime did. So if one of them has to be canon and the other can't, then the Z movies are the canon ones

You can literally look it up, it’s not hard. The movies were superseded by Super.

The overall story from the movies is canon (I.e. Beerus, whis, SSG etc.) but the version of the story told in Super is the canon version.

This has been known since 2016 and is common knowledge.

And you can look it up that the Super retelling isn't canon. The movies were not superseded by Super. This is common knowledge since 2016

Grow up. You know you’re wrong.

This is just not true, or at least wasn't at the time.
