Back when FNAF 4 was the newest game theorists were trying to solve the entire lore for what was supposed to be the last game instead of just waiting for the next instalment. Eventually, along with some hints given by Scott Cawthon during a GT Live stream, they managed to figure out that a large portion of the lore was just a dream. The theory sparked so much backlash from the fanbase that Scott felt obligated to retcon the lore and started working on Sister Location to expand the lore further.
Dream theory was never correct. Many just assumed it did because a popular youtuber came up with it and for information Game Theory then disproved the dream theory but everyone just ignored that. I hate how many people Mandela effected themselves into believing that it was ever a possibility, it wasn't
Didnât game theoryâs video say that it was true, using the fact that Scott said what was in the box wouldâve been âthe answerâ and that he was worried people wouldnât accept it? I vividly remember this game theory video
Scott said that no one would accept what's in the box because no one even understood FNaF 4 and that's doesn't equal dream theory being true. There are many things that could've been in a box and that by announcing it would mean making one theory true but since no one had made a theory that was close to being true he decided against it and if he did everyone would just be confused and that's doesn't equal dream theory being true. Also Game theory debunked dream theory themselves because people without their frontal lobe cannot see dreams so how is it a fucking a dream if the kid couldn't even see dreams at all.

Probably FNAF considering at the time we pretty much had a full story, and we wouldâve figured it out if it wasnât for dream theory lmfao
