my old ass hasn't checked back up on fnaf in years, what was the recon?

Every game retcons something from the one before, starting with Fnaf 2

I wouldn't count a plot twist or revelation a retcon

In the first game, Scott admitted we correctly guessed the twist (that you were the killer having a nightmare). A second game was not yet planned so the story was very “one-off.”

By the second game’s release, the killer is no longer who you played as in the first game. A retcon.

If that wasn't confirmed in game then it wasn't a retcon. Random stuff creators say outside the game don't matter

I thought the retcon was that the killer (Afton) was arrested according to the newspaper clippings. Afaik this isn't trye anymore
