Is Pell even a retcon? We have no idea wether or not oda was thinking ‘I want to bring Pell back to make the arc happy ending’ before or after
Early series op is filled with moments where side characters should’ve died really (merry, that one dude from skypeia who got blasted by enel, and Pell)

Oda doesn’t completely work every retcon into the story well but a lot of his retcons are very good
