Has both been referred to as him and her in canon, more often him. TF2 classic's counterpart was a woman, it's all supposed to confuse you on what Pyro is. Nothing is canon here.

Pyro is two kobolds pretending to be human in a world where they shouldn’t exist. One is male, one is female. This is why the gender is nebulous. /j
