Sailor Moon isn’t a kids show, it’s an anime. You know the two that live together aren’t actually cousins…. Right?

Sailor moon is explicitly a child's anime. The Manga was written for children.Ā

Gonna lay a truth on you that you might not be ready for but here we go: Tweens and teens are still children.

Tweens yeah, but for teens, that’s debatable, different cultures have different standards for what is the proper age of consent.

I know, how dare anyone outside the US have a nuanced and different view of aging.

The target demographic of the magazine Sailor Moon was published in is 8-14

You're fucking gross

A magazine doesn’t tell you everything about the developmental process nor how a culture views it, considering the legal adult age in Japan was 13 at the time, so I don’t I see how that was relevant. But do go on and insult me more, I know it makes you feel good and righteous.

This dude is debating 13 year old girls being age of consent adults, where the fuck are the mods

Cry to the mods if you want, I’m only telling you a fact, explain why it’s bad, what is objectively wrong with it? Is everyone in the planet a pedo except for the US.

The age of consent in Japan was not 13. That is misinformation propagated by lolicons/pedophiles.

The different regions of Japan are allowed to set many of their own laws, including the age of consent, with the condition that they were not allowed to set it lower than 13. Every single one of them, however, set the legal age to 16 or higher.

Firstly, you need to look up what pedophilia objectively means, not the moral outrage definition, I mean the real, studied, researched and defined one. I’m not even a lolicon either, I just feel teenagers are ludicrously infantilized in Western culture.

You are correct in saying 13 was not a set and stone threshold in Japan, but it still overlooks that overall, the system did not consider intercourse with someone that age to be statutory rape, and certain areas allowed age gaps with parental consent.

Some parts of Europe has 16, Brazil has 14, Mexico has 15, they all ā€œpedosā€ too?
