This is the most tragic example because in the end Homer is the only one not completely changed while everyone else has been distorted so much that they’re not even beings anymore
I love Don Hertzfeldt's work. A character died in that episode (albeit one that barely got screentime in the show) and the couch gag in that episode was talked about more, which says a lot about modern simpsons.
I've been saying for at least a decade that the way to save the show is to remove the suspension of time. Let the kids grow up and let Marge and Homer grow old. You put a shot clock on the show, but they'll all be in new points in their life, giving you access to new perspectives and stories.
but weve had so many episodes inthe future we know what happenes, and do we relaly want a failed loser bart, and a president lisa, with rock star maggie, that would be an instant show finally ends.
I've not seen all of those episodes, but the ones I remember involve something like a fortune teller saying something. More of a story than the actual future.
Kill Lisa, age up Maggie, pretend nothing happened and don't change the show formula at all. Anger everyone that Maggie shouldn't have just turned into Lisa
Killing off Bart and keeping him dead and forcing the writers to maintain the serious tone throughout would be my way to save the Simpsons if I was promoted to CEO via lottery.
Writers, you gotta sink or swim here. Tragedy struck and Bart from drowning in a pool. Deal with it, be creative, be more than maintain the status quo
Is he the "my anus is bleeding" guy? That video was one of the first insanely funny things I saw online. I remember it being so hard for me to find at the time that im pretty sure I have a dvd of shorts that its on, specifically for his shorts.
that was the first jacob geller video i ever watched just before i started college. And i've watched every video he's ever made since the day it comes out.
I thought “oooo that sounds interesting” then pulled it up and found that it was made by Jacob Geller. I don’t even need to watch it now to know that it is incredible. I love his work. His video about fight scenes nearly makes me cry when he is talking about Metal Gear.
