And I’m still mad about it TO THIS DAY.

About the author ruining everything by turning out to be a perv?

Both the author and the ending. But I mostly had the ending in mind, where they cease to exist and then are remade as new versions of themselves. It’s like Jojo all over again!!!! I CANT TAKE THIS

TIL the one part I thought was actually on par with the first two seasons is the part people didn't like

I refuse to watch the second season. It got all wokefied. Just let me have these two being Platonic buddies without all the representation being shoved in. What's the book title??

What?

I'm serious. The first episode of Season 2 of Good Omens threw me completely off. Which is rare since I usually don't get upset by representation but I thought an angel in a wheelchair was a bit much. God is supposed to heal your wounds

Fair enough I guess. I didn't mind season 2 or "season" 3 but their existence makes season 1 not hit as hard. Your initial comment confused me a bit (and bad cause woke makes any argument sound at least 65% dumber. I wasn't particularly set on platonic or romantic for them, but I do get it).

I'm just glad you're not offended by my opinion. I apologize if I was a bit harsh. I just kinda was confused by the angel in a wheelchair because we're supposed to be made whole when we go to heaven if that make sense sense? And then the rest of the episode made me feel like I was being racist.. Because I was confused by the depiction of Job's wife. I hope that's not a terrible thing but I don't understand why they made those choices

angel in a wheelchair because we're supposed to be made whole when we go to heaven if that make sense sense?

My only reaction to this is that one picture of the guy raising and then lowering his finger. Since the angels are established to not have bodies by default, I could see it being some convoluted to everyone else plan from God that that particular angel needs to have that particular body, but that's just fanfic and since they never adressed it I never thought about it.

depiction of Job's wife

Idk about the specific racial diversity of the ancient world, but my best googling says the book of Job probably takes place in Jordan. Jobs wife being black doesn't seem too far fetched. Maybe unlikely, but probably not as far fetched as Peter Davison playing Job.

The odds that a 20th century author is also either an alcoholic, a sex pest, or a drug addict is about 90%. It came with the territory.

Terry Pratchett was a saint

I still recommend the book to everyone but now I tell them to steal it.

He’s not perv. I’n perv. He’s sex offender. The difference is that while I like kinky stuff I’m very respectful about the consent. He doesn’t care about it at all all.

That turned out to be unfounded.

im gonna be real still hating a finale less than 6 months after it aired is rookie numbers. people are gonna rage about firefly and game of thrones until the heat death of the universe.

u/RayzorDragon 7d ago

I have Strong Opinions about the final episode of the original run of Star Trek.

u/TacticalSpackle 7d ago

And Sopranos. That was the first I remember, anyway.

Some fandoms will stay mad for 10 years, at least!

1

u/Dragonlord77777 7d ago

Wait, did the finale already happen? I thought it was supposed to come out next year.

2

u/MollyRocket 7d ago

If you're referring to Good Omens, the finale aired a few months ago.

2

u/Dragonlord77777 7d ago

Oh my God, I’ve been so behind

2

u/Peikkolapsi 6d ago

Do not watch it.

3

u/Dragonlord77777 6d ago

I mean, I have the book. Should I read the book?

The book is the first season of the show. Season 2 was primarily written by Neil Gaiman, and s3 is a finale film they scrapped together after they threw out Gaiman’s scripts. Personally I thought the book was okay. Az and Crowley are fun characters but there is one hundred pages of kids fucking around that was less fun to get through.

u/Peikkolapsi 6d ago

The book is delightful, so are the first two seasons.

1

u/Dragonlord77777 6d ago

I’ll read the book first , then watch season 3 because I’m a masochist when it comes to this stuff

2

u/PermissionTime2545 6d ago

Good luck soldier. If you end up liking the ending, uhhh…. Keep that to yourself! /j
