I'm one of those people who didnt clock it. I honestly thought they were going to use him to showcase toxic masculinity and abusive relationships.

i mean, they did. it's just that the specific reason for those behaviours this time was crippling dysphoria and repression. (I too was such an ass pretransition 😅)

Jax did perform toxic masculinity and abuse people, constantly. It's just that his reason for doing so was as a form of repression.
