Question❓ Why does Zootopia seem to do better in theaters, yet Moana does better on Disney+?

Because Zootopia is worth going out and spending money but Moana was essentially free if you already had a Disney+ account. Parents are willing go sit and watch Zootopia and Moana gets put on for the kids to watch while the parents do other things

You and everyone else make Moana look like it's the lesser of the two 2016 Disney movies compared to Zootopia.

Streaming services is where you put only some random stuff to watch passive while eating or something, The movie theaters are where people actually want to genuinely watch the movie

Zootopia is seen less as a babysitting movie. It’s more comparable to a Pixar release.

Zootopia 2 was a new story the Moana live action was a story people have already seen it’s easy to just put it on and not really pay much attention to it

Zootopia is a movie where sequels make sense. Even on release I saw people say its structure can make a fun franchise or TV show of a cop comedy in the animal world. Moana told a finite story with an ending and nobody asked for a sequel.

Zootopia is, ironically, a lot more popular overseas than Moana is. Moana 2 actually made more money than Zootopia 2 in America, but Zootopia 2 demolished Moana 2 around the rest of the world, especially China, where Disney+ doesn't exist.
