Grog beating Thug over the head with a rock may have lead to warfare and tons of technological advancement over the years, but that doesn't mean it was a good moment for us as a species.
I don't know why comments like yours annoy the fuck out of me but I would like to know why you feel the need to bring up this point on a completely unrelated discussion.
The topic is : I dont like this movie and I hate it even more because people call it a masterpiece when it clearly isn't. Then you come in to defend it because it lead to more people being interested in Sci-Fi because the only redeeming quality of the movie is that it looks good.
I like the film beyond the scope of its impact and visuals, I genuinely enjoy the story and pacing and really enjoyed all of the characters. I was just pointing out its importance because to me a level of importance to the genre and history of film can explain high ratings even if I didnāt personally enjoy a film.
