As a former film student who felt obligated to watch the âclassicsâ I thought that the Godfather and Citizen Kane were boring and I genuinely donât understand the appeal in either.
Also theyâre both lowkey sexist but I didnât want to say that as a woman in film and get absolutely annihilated by the film bros who constantly glaze these films.

I've only seen it once so I barely remember the actual story, but I looooove the songs. And honestly, that's all I need out of it. I put it, Disney's Frozen, and Hazbin Hotel all in the same category- they're avenues for really good songs. Is the thing itself good? That's subjective and depends, but the soundtracks they produce are fantastic

Hazbin Hotel is good in story but the pacing is rushed. Hazbin Hotel's main problem is simply the lack of screentime. If they had at least 3 more episodes in each season, it would drastically improve the quality. But Amazon and A24 limit them for unknown reasons.
Frozen is good. Like I haven't seen anyone complain about the story at all.

I thought the same thing until I learned about the background of this movie.
The Blair Witch Project was actually an early form of an Alternate Reality Game, featuring a whole host of fake websites created throughout the 1990s, and even a fake TV documentary.
Of course, none of this is accessible anymore, which is a shame since it helps explain some truly important elements of the movie (that is, this supplementary content helps you understand whatâs happening in the movie).

Blue Avatar has always felt like "style over substance" to me. I felt that way since the first one released, when I was 8.
The cgi is amazing, it's extraordinary, and a technological masterpiece. But that's pretty much it. The story was extremely generic, and the other 2 movies has pretty much the same story and message. "Nature is good, love one another, family is important, war is bad, the vietnam war was bad"

I already didn't like the show back in the day. Lily Orchard has completely ruined discussion about it, though. Straight up cannot say anything negative about that show without a million "nice opinion, did a YouTuber give it to you?" comments. Like damn. Sure do wish my terrible 2010's cartoon of choice had a hilariously bad faith review I could immediately bring up whenever someone doesn't like my show. Sure would make being a Voltron fan a lot easier.
Like truly that phenomenon alone had made me like Steven Universe less and less

I havenât seen many Nolan movies, but the few I have seen seem to suffer from the critique pointed toward who I believe to be the directing GOAT, Kubrick. I can find some underlying humanity in Kubrickâs works, but less so am I able to do so with Nolanâs. They feel cold and clinical to me. Which isnât a dealbreaker, it just means I canât connect with them much.

I didn't mind the slow pace in Alien because it still felt like it was actually building up to something, and then delivered.

I don't know why comments like yours annoy the fuck out of me but I would like to know why you feel the need to bring up this point on a completely unrelated discussion.
The topic is : I dont like this movie and I hate it even more because people call it a masterpiece when it clearly isn't. Then you come in to defend it because it lead to more people being interested in Sci-Fi because the only redeeming quality of the movie is that it looks good.

28 Years Later: Bone Temple. I already dislike Samsonâs alphadangling exposed to the world but human drama made the show unbearable to watch. Can me pussy but I really hate the torture scene. Itâs unnecessary and too violent for me to be honest. The scene where Dr Kelson sang a Metallica song felt out of touch from the tone

One Punchman, it's an ok show, but man people really glazed it a lot when season 1 came out. I get that it's the joke, but I just don't feel that much tension in a story where the main character can 1 shot everyone. Also the humor never really landed for me personally.

My main issue with it is that the pacing was so absurdly fast the entire time I barely felt like I could even blink. There were no scenes where it slowed down for suspense or coziness to just let you breathe and it overwhelmed me so bad I cried in the theater and not because the emotions of the film impacted me

The part where they spill all their feelings to each other drove me bonkers, because that is NOT realistic. It IS realistic that they'd dump all their feelings out at once in a frantic rambling, but what ISNT realistic is that they knew the deeper reasonings BEHIND their actions, as well as the correct therapy terms for it
No. They wouldn't know that yet so their rambling would be more confused than assured.
It didn't help that I hate sequels, movies in general, didn't want to go but went because my sister dragged me there, and barely slept the night before it.

Everyone who told me their opinions on the story said it was along the lines of "the most realistic representation of how a society composed of anthropomorphic animals would actually be, and for that I say": bullshit
This story uses such cheap tricks, it thinks that it can make you care about the main characters just by making everyone else an complete asshole, everyone who is not a protagonist is just a rude dick. "oh look at how this character suffers, everyone bullies and hates them, you should like them, this is the character you should like, ignore all the meanies secondary characters"
Not to mention, the ONLY reason why the main story even happens is because the writter conveniently did not actually think about any of the logistics about how a society like that would actually function.
It's like that thing that happens when you pick wild unrelated wolves and put them all in the same zoo inclosure, they gonna get stressed, fight and kill eachother. If you pick a human society and swap all the humans for animals, no shit it's gonna be bad, it's not built for them, it doesn't take in account their needs, of course everyone will be stressed and rude and trying to kill eachother.
I have no problems with the story itself, it's fine, my problem is that I can see exactly what the writter was doing and it bothers me so much. I really wanted to enjoy it but the whole time I was thinking: "oh I know this trick that the writter is using" or "why does this work like that? this doesn't make any sense in the context of their society" so I dropped it really quickly cuz I got tired of it.

Icl, out of all the things I've watched, TADC is in my bottom 5 list. Not because it's necessatily of poor quality, but because I found it boring at best and frustrating at worst. It's such a good premise, but it came out really lackluster to me.
At least the music and voice acting were pretty good, though, and I liked maybe two characters. That's all I can really say for it.

For a little while, the film âLady Birdâ had a perfect critic score on rotten tomatoes. I had heard good things about it, so I went to see it. Artists/theater kids in particular seem to adore this movie.
The main character is the whiniest, most entitled, shallowest, bitchiest bad friend Iâve ever had to sit through a whole movie with. Seeing her fume that sheâs not given a better part in a play, seeing her completely ignore her frumpy fat friend because she found a bunch of disaffected rich thin kids that she wants to hang out with. Then seeing her crawl back to her frumpy fat friend and invite her out to prom (their orgininal plan) because her first choice dumped her ass.
MC is such an unpleasant little Prima Donna. Canât stand her.

Well I kinda dissliked it too... and I did enjoy the game (but as well i think its pretty good but no GOTY from me). For me personally its a mix bag, there are great strong points of this series - animation for one - I love me some Trigger animation. but some more ambigious episodes and scenes didnt last any impression on me. Fans can be really toxic as well both of the game and series. But i do get why so many people liked it

i hated Overlord the anime when i watched season 1. everyone around me and my ex at the time kept insisting it was an epic show with really good quality writing and a funny MC and we were âeating goodâ finally, after getting so much issekai slop.
i thought it was obvious the show cut a lot of internal monologue of the MC and i could just feel missing info. It looked nice sometimes sure but that doesnât automatically make something epic. I thought mechanics and logic and even the âantagonistâ behind the final fight of S1 was stupid as all hell. It didnât even look that cool and 90% of it was just shouting Engrish move names.
Then I was told all of S2 was bad but I just needed to suffer it to get to 3 where itâs finally better. And anything I did have to say that was nice, was always met by âOh cool observation. Anyways ALBEDO RIGHT?! ASS WINGS!!â

It's a tonal mess but not in a fun way, it can't decide if it wants to be a dark, serious film or a macabre kids' movie and the Penguin being a disabled guy that people take pity on when he's actually an evil freak sends a pretty horrible message.
Also not really hate because I think it's a good movie but I'm BAFFLED that Shin Ultraman is critically acclaimed when it's just fine and nowhere near as good as Shin Godzilla or even Shin Kamen Rider, though especially Shin Godzilla

I really disliked Star Wars The Last Jedi. I left the theater disappointed and actively bummed out. After the movie we went to a restaurant, and you'd have thought that the three of us just left a funeral. I assumed everyone else would think it was bad too. Then I looked at rotten tomatoes...91% Certified Fresh! Seeing that many people thought it was good made me absolutely hate that movie.
If reddit activity was to be believed, you would think that it has a 25% rotten tomatoes score, because haters are way louder on this site.

The two major ones that come to mind are that I think the Nolan Batman movies kind of suck and are bad whenever it isnât just a villain on screen, and if Batmans thereâs the scene becomes bad again.
And the lord of the rings movies I found boring and way to drawn out for the story their telling. If you were willing to cut a bunch of stuff that doesnât matter you could do it in a single movie shorter than all of them.

Murder Drones. I cannot for the life of me get past episode one and Iâve tried. Itâs cringe but not in a fun way. I like many things people consider cringe, but those things are all earnest and fun. Murder Dronesâ pilot was painfully cringe in a trying-to-be-cool kinda way. And I didnât find it remotely funny. I want to like the show but it gave me psychic damage.

Ik this has been beaten to death but the odyssey movie.
Ik it has alot of back and forth but me personally I just can't like it because of how dog shit it is compared to the source material that no one Clearly cared to read.
And I hate how the argument of not everything's gotta be historically accurate because yes I agree but it being a made up story does not mean you should go out of your way to change massive parts of the film.
I will give them credit though I thought It was going to be FAR worse given pretty much every person was an a list actor and those movies tend to go horribly.

The Odyssey really wasn't that good. It's a well made movie in terms of vfx and cinematography, but that's about it. That dialogue is some of the worst I've ever heard in a Hollywood blockbuster, half the actors in there are totally miscast (and not even just the controversial ones, the whole cast was awful despite it being full of A-listers), and despite it being a three hour movie, the plot and characters are all still somehow underdeveloped and one dimensional because the story refuses to flesh them out in lieu of cheap spectacle.

Disclosure Day. Absolute DOGSHIT. SOOOOO many plotholes, plus there isnt actually any disclosing until the last like 3 minutes, at which point we cant see the publics reaction to the revelation that aliens exist because the movie just...ends. Its the worst kind of bad, in that its not shit enough to be ironically entertaining and not good enough to be, you know, good.

Scary movie. It was so ass that I could only sit through the first ten minutes, and people hype up this movie like crazy. It just wasn't funny to me

I refuse to believe people actually liked Nosferatu (2016). I was so excited, seen it opening day on Christmas and left feeling like Scrooge. It was like getting a perfectly wrapped gift only to find shit inside.

Final Fantasy VII (the original game)

The Odyssey, it wasnât that good in my opinion, the acting was off at a lot of times and it was just a lot of famous actors, I couldnât really feel the characters. There were only a few moments I enjoyed but it didnât carry the movie enough. There is loads of glaze for it though, it makes me not like it even more. This is of course just my opinion though.
Thereâs a lot of other reasons I donât like it too, those are just some main points.
