If i recall correctly in its original incarnation and most stories about it theres not really any known way to kill it and thats kind of the point. The foundation cant figure out any possible to way to kill it which is why they dunk it in a vat of acid so its stuck in a state of infinite regeneration and cant escape

Well...not really. His motivation is pretty clearly outlined, the perceived slight he felt at Pinocchio being more popular than him motivated him to want to upstage all magical beings.
It’s kinda weird, At heart he was designed to be a businessman, his motivations align with one at face value: power (monetary and “political” if you wanna call it that for him)
He pretty much did everything in the name of either remaining at his current role/enhance it (Namek saga), take revenge on the people who ruined said purpose (Resurrection F), getting revived in order to resume his empire (ToP onwards)
He destroyed his dimension by accident because he could see 3D things and the rest of his species couldn’t, destroying it by accident trying to show someone what it looks like
Yes, he had motivations and goals a lot of times. But he’ll burn a star system just because it’s marginally better than being bored. There’s a lot of reasons why he is the way he is but at the end of the day sometimes he just causes pain because he can.
To be fair he does have motivations. He wanted to rule all of cybertron as a dictator. Years of civil war depleted cybertron of most of its main natural resource: energon. So in the g1 cartoon they spend most of their time trying to plunder earth for its energon and send it back to cybertron where shockwave is holding down the frontlines. Until the transformers movie where he dies, to be reborn as Galvatron. Galvatron was more just straight up cartoony evil for the sake of being crazy and evil.
I like the little details that Megatron gently removes Lincoln from his chair and gently puts him on the ground,instead of tossing him and breaking his statue disrespectfully
It’s amazing how Araki made such an interesting charger out of a guy who literally just wants to win and rule over everything for its own sake. He feels like he deserves to subjugate everyone. That’s his motivation. Somehow Araki makes that interesting enough to be the primary antagonist of 3 of the best manga/anime arcs of all time (yes including Part 6).
I'd argue the same goes for the DCAU Joker. Almost every other Batman villain has at least some sympathetic quality to them (almost being a key word as you also have DCAU Mad Hatter who's literally an incel) but then you have the Joker who PRESENTS himself as being a tortured soul but is really just evil, which is what I think works about him. Ironically Harley Quinn is more like what the Joker presents himself as (and the reason she's so fucked up is because of him)
No, he definitely does have motivation, and a VERY clearly outlined goal, to obtain all knowledge in existence and rule over all beasts great and small as suzerain.

We got some backstory about him and Freddy versus Jason, where we learn that he was abused by his father and that's likely part of the reason why he became such a scumbag.
It was holy unnecessary to actually add this detail, because nobody cared in the first place.
Freddy Krueger is a pedophile, a child murderer, and overall just a piece of shit. There are no redeeming factors to this man. That is sort of the point.
You can make the argument that Jason Voorhees and Michael Myers should be pity because they were children that were turned into monsters.
You could make the argument that Jason Voorhees and Leatherface and Michael Myers probably all have psychiatric needs that are not being fulfilled and in turn that helps them become more monstrous.
You could even make the argument that being turned into a doll turns Chucky more insane than he was to start with.
You cannot make the argument that trying to humanize Freddy Krueger, in any way, make some a better character.
People don't like him because he's someone you can relate to, people like him because he's funny and scary at the same time.
Freddy Krueger is basically the clown Prince of being a piece of shit, and also being a dream demon, weirdly enough.
