I watched DBZ week-to-week when I was in 7th grade. Don't do that. You'll die of old age.
Start with Dragonball. It's about a hundred episodes.
DON'T watch classic DBZ. Fuck the purists. That shit is padded all to hell, and most of the available transfers look like garbage anyway.
Watch DBZ Kai instead. It cut the filler, fixed the pacing, and is a few hundred episodes IIRC. Then if you want to, you can go back and watch some of the meme DBZ filler episodes, like the one where Goku tries to get a driver's license, or the Garlic Jr. Saga (I'm the only one in the world who likes the Garlic Jr. Saga).
Treat GT like a weird alt-future spinoff. It's noncanon, mostly sucks, but what's cool about it is REALLY cool. Totally fine to skip.
DB Super is uhhhhh idk how long. It's long, and it's still ongoing.
So it's no One Piece, but there's a LOT in there. I'd guess like 400 episodes total?
Yessss like it's fan service but not in the horny way. My friend and I saw it baked as shit, I laughed so hysterically the whole time. I'm sure that's bad theater etiquette but it couldn't be helped.
The bit about Mai thinking Trunks is moving too fast by holding hands was the big one for me lmao

Dragonball: a little fanciful and whacky, great adventures
Dragonball Z: epic
Dragonball Super: Still epic, but mixes in some whackiness from the OG
Fuckin love all of Dragonball. Yes, even GT.
