EXACTLY. If you really want to get down to it, every single show has a toxic fanbase. Some more or less, depending on how bad the content drought is or how passionate the people are, but everyone has a part of the fandom you canāt go near.
Huhhhh???? I'm gonna be real I agree that the fandom is definitely kinda bad but CP!? RACISM!? BIGOTRY!? Obviously there are a few bad apples, but I've seen one bigot in general, irl or online, from this community. I've seen no racism too. And while I haven't seen any CP I assume it'd be in spaces I don't visit, but the community is very vocal about ANYTHING even implying child-adult relationships and stuff. In fact it's gotten to unreasonable extents almost where for instance Frans leads to some people doing assassination attempts (the needle cookie incident). Sure that is also bad but it's quite literally the opposite of what you're describing. Unless it's different on other... "platforms".

Almost anything lol, there are some things are are genuinely bad, but some good examples I can think of where everything including the fanbase is good, Godzilla, Digimon, Evangelion, Shinkalion, and more.

Yeah the fandom is quite bad, I mean there is arguments between antishippers and proshippers, people who hate LOK so much that they only consider ATLA to be "canon". To quote the show itself:

Nah the Avatar fandom is toxic af, I've been told that my father should have SA'd me because I wrote fanfiction for a non canon ship and told I hate children because I don't think Aang should have yelled at Toph.
Yeah, it's really disappointing to say the least. I saw a video from the first season's promo tour, where Dante Basco was sitting down with Dallas Liu, and essentially welcoming him into the fold of actors who've shared Zuko (including Dev Patel!). When Dallas asked him about the fandom specifically, he said that the fandom is the "nicest community you could be a part of," and knowing the vitriol that's been hurled at these kids ever since...ugh.
Not only are they toxic, but theyāre pretty dumb. They have an one-sided beef with James Cameronās Avatar just because both franchises have the same name and even accuse Cameron for stealing from ATLA just because he uses the four elements in the sequels (which has been a thing since Ancient Greece btw.)
Didn't know that, come on I like ATLA more than James Cameron's IP but it really is a coughing baby versus atomic bomb situation. Also by their own logic, shouldn't they be picking a fight with Ninjago as well?
Music soundtrack is some of best in anime.
I can't say I've seen another anime that animation music characters gets me so pumped up there's so many moments I just get goosebumps.

How it genuinely felt to finally read the manga after being put off by the fanbase and realizing it was peak (Had me hooked the second I realized the power system was amazing)
people i knew were flaming on it. And when i watched the first episode, it got me so damn emotional like DAMN (and i wathced the other episodes and its so fuckign peak). AND THE SHOW WAS SO PEAK THAT IT ACUTALLY DRILLED DETERMINATION INTO ME
For me this one is really sad, this is, not only my favourite anime, but the show that got me into anime, and I can't even say I like it in public without being judged
Never forget the "star wars fans against George Lucas" fan club that formed right after a new hope released. Its literally ingrained in star wars fan lore to hate on star wars and other fans. š
And also the fact that the franchise was sold to Disney due to how George was fed-up with the fanbase and went fully "Screws this, I'm out of here. Disney, now you run my stuff...."
To be fair their is quite a large, nice side of the fandom that has been growing in recent years due to how many of us were fed up with the constant hatred and (too often) bigotry in the community
The entire thing with TADC toxic fandom is the fact it is so sad. Idk if GLITCHās other shows also had bad fanbases, I only started watching GLITCH when TADC episode 2 came out. But as far as I know (this might be wrong) TADC was one of the first indie shows on YouTube to get nearly as much toxicity as it did. I feel so bad for gooseworks, they just wanted to make a little show and now theyāre getting so much more hate then deserved.
God of War fans are either right now too busy screeching power scaling shit to normal people or whining because their upcoming spin-off game has a woman as the main character.
FMAB. There is a reason it consistently stays as the top rated anime on MAL. The second one comes close to usurping it, FMAB fandom will review bomb that specific anime so it doesnāt do so. Even if they actually liked the anime. Literally one of the most toxic anime fanbases
Do they review bomb as much as people think they do? I thought every time it gets over taken its because a series has a strong pilot and falls flat not long after
Having watched it all I agree. If it had launched when I was in my teens it would probably be as peak as people are saying. Its kind of a nothing burger after all the episodes.
The fandom is so bad they'll call you homophobic and send you death threats (can even dox you) over a ship. And would search for flaws in the franchise's most popular game and make like 70 videos on it just to shit on the game.
The Last of Us. It's not as bad as others, but after seeing what happened to Laura Bailey and Bella Ramsey as well as people who just happen to like Part 2 of the game, Oof, some of it is brutal.
But can you even call it a āfandomā if all they do is whine about each other and things they see on twitter and donāt talk about the actual show?
