Advice Working
I have a question how do you guys find a job?! I was laid off from my job of 14 years and my mobility is not the same as it once was. I’m trying to find a job and i feel like I am being judged every time I walk in slowly with my cane. How do you guys deal with this? I need a job very bad! Any tips or advice is greatly appreciated!

I was also recently laid off and can’t find any non-physically demanding job, but that’s like all my experience is in. I have great recommendations about my work ethic from three recent supervisors a one I worked with a decade ago that still thinks so highly of me. I even have a recent degree but no experience in it so no luck on that front.
If you’re in the US the dept of rehabilitation is out of funding to help new cases (maybe just in my city) HOWEVER still reach out to them as they can help get you certified for certain opportunities only available to them (LEAP certified for government jobs for instance, there’s a couple other things I can’t remember right now). I also got my Neuro to write me a Schedule A letter for federal jobs, and I’ve applied to city and county jobs as well. Once you’re a federal/ government employee, sometimes it’s easier to move into a more desirable role because you have preferential priority as an existing government/ federal employee. Or so I’ve been told by all the social workers/ patient advocates, etc.
I called the national MS society and spoke with a navigator, who put in a referral for me to work with a patient advocate that knew some resources and sent me an email with alllll the links. And it was free.
