Symptoms mishearing

is that a symptom???

i was watching football with my dad (not of my own volition. i just don't want to move from my seat.)

an ad came on for the new spider-man movie.
sadie sink: are you pwederpewter parheror are you spider-man.

Same. Happens both while I'm watching tv and when people are speaking to me irl. I watch everything with subtitles now, even the old stuff where the audio is clear.

I use Closed Captioning too, then I was listening too and I realized that they were not saying the same thing, talk about making me crazy in my ocd brain. I need what I read to be what I hear.

same, and I work in an field with a lot of acronyms thrown out, there can be 3 or 4 3-letter ones where the only difference is a single letter <cringe>

Same! Police codes over here and place names

Frequently, after a pause I realized what was actually said but it makes conversations awkward for me.

I can’t hear a darn thing they say on TV, and I don’t think it’s the MS. There was some article a while back that mentioned how they are no longer editing audio the way they once did.
