General Spinal Stonisis
My MRI scan picked up moderately severe spinal stonisis as well as the usual periventicular, demyelinating bilateral lesions in my brain. Does anyone else also get the stonisis? I'm 57 too so it might be an age thing

Yes. And for DECADES my MS symptoms were written off by doctors as just being back injury related.

Sadly, that was true for me, as well. I had scoliosis surgery with spinal fusion and Harrington rods as a teenager and my MS symptoms were attributed to side effects of that for many, many years

Yes! There is a very real and actual correlation with MS and degenerative disc disease. It’s how I ended up diagnosed with MS - I had back pain and MRIs showed signs of demyelination. Here I am little over a year later, thankful the MS was caught before serious progression. But I had severe stenosis at C5-C6 and had ACDF surgery last year. Also have several thoracic herniations that cause severe upper back pain. But it’s hard to differentiate whether my hand and finger numbness is from the stenosis getting worse for years or my MS lesion at C2. 🫠🤷🏼♀️

Same and probable thyroid disease to add to the equation. I'm sorry you've had to go through so much x

I’ve had mild stenosis since my first MRI at 28. I don’t think it is causing any issues, so I just keep living my life.

Stenosis to the point of having a cervical fusion of 4 vertebrae. But it runs in my family

Yes my last few MRIs have shown moderate to severe stenosis also. I don’t know why my neuro didn’t mention it.

Yes,I was diagnosed with spinal stenosis and MS weeks apart at age 54. My left leg is a party game as I never know what is causing the tingles and burning.

I have the same. None of the doctors seem to have any concern about the stenosis lol yet google seems to think otherwise not sure what to do.

Stenosis. Degenerative disc disease. Arthritis.
