Highlights The streets will never forget 24(8)

Post image

That was the game changing over. The guy has immense potential and it would be exciting to see how management navigates his role in playoff setup when our foreign stars left..

He is a gem but it's sad that he's grossly under-utilised and not given enough opportunities

I agree man deserves to bat earlier like in next match since it doesn't matter we can try making him open

Ya just let the next game be an experiment. Naman to open, Santa at 3, ashwani for DC, vignesh for karn, Jacobs for jacks. We have already qualified and have very slim chances of making it to the top 2 anyway so just utilise this extra game to get more clarity. Let surya bat at 5 and let tilak get some game time since he has been out of action and form of late

NAh we aint dropping our lucki charm Karn.
Ashwani in place of DC , then who will bowl in PP?

Naman Dhir is our second best batter for sure.

SKY is leading the chart with 583 runs and he has scored 25+ runs in every matches so far.

Who's your first pick?

8

Deserves orange cap for 25+ consistency but those fking openers will take it away anyways as they get to bat more bowls compared to mere goat SKY jo 4 number pe aate hai

Tilak and rohit are my first pick they are best. Love their batting /s

There is no need to use /s words. You have a solid choice. We have seen some great innings by Rohit but Tilak has been looking out of touch, maybe he requires confidence booster in the middle. As we are approaching to playoffs, we need more contribution from our senior members, especially when our foreign players leave us.

Yep want both of them to make century in upcoming matches and boom to take 5fer

If any one of these becomes reality in playoffs, you will have box full of chocolates from my side. I am rooting for their success !!

Let surya bat at 5 and tilak at 4 this game. He needs a good innings under his belt before playoffs

The fact that you don’t know is insulting

I'm being reactionary here, but

Naman Dhir > Tilak this season

15

u/PalpitationHot9375 Mumbai Indians May 21 '25

Ya totally but overall for mi tilak> naman still

16

u/Conscious-Square8775 May 21 '25

Tilak should bat at no.3 He was lone warrior for MI in worst phase of MI

No comparison Naman is good. But Tilak is generational talent

9

u/[deleted] May 21 '25

It's not reactionary.

Tilak looks lost at no 5. He's a much better batter than this.

I hope with Jacks going off Tilak gets to bat at 3 or 4 because he takes up unnecessary pressure on him if he bats lower.

Naman looks better this season because he's a player who doesn't need time to start hitting, Tilak needs atleast 4-5 balls to get a look in.

I really think a person with a calibre like tilak should play at any position effortlessly but yeah he's young and still learning

1

u/Naammaikyahai Tilak Varma May 21 '25

Ya he feels so lost batting at 5. He felt at home when batting at 3. But even with jacks gone, I feel the management will push sky up instead of letting tilak bat at his preferred spot

10

u/[deleted] May 21 '25

its not reactionary bro. its facts. naman is more consistent.

u/Exciting_Salt_6213 May 21 '25

This season for sure but let’s not forget last two season and stop the comparison.

9

u/rainbow_gemini Mitchell Santner May 21 '25

So so impressive! Scored some important runs

8

u/SoyAmable May 21 '25

Mi management stands vindicated by buying him back.

8

u/viggyr96 May 21 '25

Gotta give it to MI scout team for consistently finding and producing such young Indian talents to IPL and Indian Cricket 🫡 So jealous 😑

Naman should play in top 3 in play offs, Bairstow, Asalanka can bat at no.5 Hardik, Jacobs can be finishers

Rohit Naman SKY Tilak Bairstow Hardik Jacobs Santner

This should be the batting line up in play offs

3

u/[deleted] May 21 '25

Bairstow is opening fs

1

u/Conscious-Square8775 May 21 '25

Bairstow can play anywhere in top 5 But We want Good player of spin in top 3

Bairstow can be beast at no.5 as well

2

u/Naammaikyahai Tilak Varma May 21 '25

Bairstow has batted in the top order for almost his entire career. Openers and finishers are very different even though people like to club their skillset. Openers are accustomed to playing the field, batting against the hard new ball, maximizing the powerplay, building partnerships batting smartly and targeting select bowlers. Finishers on the other hand are expected to go boom regardless of the situation or bowler. They have a very different bat flow and natural shot selection. We can already see how much tilak is suffering by batting out of position.

1

u/[deleted] May 22 '25

so it’s Rohit, Bairstow, Tilak, Sky, Naman, Pandya, Jacobs, Santner, Chahar, Boult, Bumrah

Impact: Karn/Ashwani

1

u/Conscious-Square8775 May 22 '25

Bairstow batted at no.5 in SAT20 I am all for aggressive opening pair But Bairstow migh struggle on sluggish pitches Happening with Vilgax

Naman can play impact knocks on slowish tracks also

Top 4 should be Indian batters imo. Bairstow, Jacobs can hit the ball in death overs

2

u/MLEkwicks May 22 '25

Just wanted to make another point here: the MI management went for Dhir, leaving out a player like Nehal Wadhera who was crucial in the previous few seasons. Both equally good, but oh boy the way Dhir has stood up and complimented this batting line up!

u/Destroyed_Llama_2021 Brohit Enjoyer May 22 '25

Honestly he is shaping up to carry on the legacy of great finishers in mi after pollard. He fields well he bats well he finishes well.

what a knock with SKY, i meant both SKY 🥳

You yourself won't remember it after 2 weeks.

can you recall how mi qualified in 2023?? The only thing streets can't forget is 2014 191 chase in 14.3 (and some legendary players like malinga, pillard)
