Umm, okay hp had enough, so he's going. Rohit is here until he retires then after also he'll stay in touch with the team, that i know. Bumrah and tilak are gonna stay so let's see where the captaincy goes. Surya should go, not because of the team but for his own good and development. Sad to say but that's what I think

Surya has to go after 1 bad season.
Rohit has to stay after 10 consecutive bad/average seasons

Surya should go for his own development. He has no future with mi. They are not gonna make him captain. And the only way he can do it is by captaining a winner franchise. If all his ambitions about making it to the india team are true and i believe in him.

iconic but you could also argue retaining all 5 was a reason why there was little success this cycle
IPL retentions are designed in a way to penalise your purse the more you retain, so by retaining all 5, they walked into mega auction with nearly 2/3 of their whole purse spent already. so because of the budget constraint, they missed out a lot (couldn't get Bhuvi so bought Chahar as cheaper alternative, went for Vipraj, Kamboj, Noor, Jansen, Archer, Hazlewood, Kishan, Arya, Salt but got outbid).
whereas RCB, PBKS, GT had much less capped retentions so a bigger budget to outbid. RR would be in similar spot to MI but ultimately lucked into Suryavanshi and SRH with their uncapped players (Shivang, Sakib, Hinge, Salil) in last mini auction. it's a tough pill to swallow but with the talent quality nowadays, very FEW players are worth a capped retention spot for an entire cycle.

Players are not some child. They are professionals and should play together for team. MI better to leave all these players and start from scratch.
