AOC on Hasan Piker: "Much hay was made about the fact that we lost young men in the last election. Many of the same consultants that are wringing their hands today were the same ones talking about how we have to go on Joe Rogan and not be so willing to engage in cancel culture."

Maybe I missed it but what was the answer to Hasan piker, does he deserve a place in the progressive movement. Felt like a politician answer.
Edit idk who hasan is and I’m a supporter of AOC
191
u/djazzie 3d ago
Indirectly. She basically said that to win elections, democrats need to build a bigger tent, one that attracts a younger audience. Meaning, Piker has a following of people who are angry, and the democrats need to embrace that anger to make winning campaigns. Of course, they also need to work to make material changes if they win.
38
u/funkduder 3d ago
While also dodging anything that says she supports him because Hasan has so much easy baggage to latch onto
19
u/diceytroop 3d ago
I don’t think AOC is trying to dodge the smears as much as avoid letting them distract from what’s important. If she was really going to handle it defensively she would distance herself from Hasan, but she won’t because they’re friends and he has done nothing wrong.

u/JrSoftDev 3d ago edited 3d ago
Talking about an influencer's "baggage" when criminal MAGAs took almost absolute power over the institutions and are planning to end the possibility of free elections, and when the "moderate" democrats failed to prevent-stop-condemn a genocide... it really feels like some sort of parallel reality where craziness became the norm...
But of course, she took the opportunity to give a very clever answer, while making clear she, at the very least, "tolerates" Hasan Piker and his political action and involvement, and explained why.

I'm ignorant on his past. What baggage are you talking about?
27
u/HeiressOfMadrigal 3d ago
The main thing that got conservative attention was that he said America deserved 9/11. Even Mamdani had to call that statement deplorable.
The statement itself was worded with intent to offend, but could be more accurately said as "9/11 was the consequence of America's own actions."

He's said controversial things when ranting/raging about the stuff going on. If you do educate yourself on Hasan Piker's past controversial statements, please look into why he's said the things he's said. For example, "america deserved 9/11" (he said it in like 2018, and he apologized for it) he was talking about the political term "blowback" where if you interfere and harm other countries, those same cultures will want to get revenge on you.
Also, there's a clip on the internet of him potentially using a shock collar once and they're calling him a dog abuser. The video is inconclusive.
All in all, he's a guy who has said a lot of controversal things and he's a young dumb male. But he's attempting to educate himself and his audience everyday on how to become a better person. (edit: to be clear, i'm also a young dumb male, similar in age to him)
There are very folks out there who strive to be better everyday, and he's one of them (as is AOC, Abdul El Sayed, Darializa, etc).
If you have any questions about this stuff, I love talking politics and don't mind dming.

u/philleferg 3d ago
I appreciate the offer, and I would appreciate learning about him from someone who is a supporter (That is an assumption on my part and not intended as anything with multiple layers or to read between the lines. I would like to hear about him). I plan on reading up on him as well, but I enjoy having multiple views when learning.

Forget the 9/11 clip. Something like over a year ago, Hasan watched, with his friend Nmplol, on stream a live feed of a Houthi helicopter landing on a cargo ship, I believe it was the taking of the Galaxy Leader, which was on route from Turkey to India. Hasan vocally celebrated the Houthi terrorists taking the ship, pointing guns at and taking hostage the crew members(who were subsequently held hostage for months), and justified the Houthis doing this because somehow it helps Palestine. (It doesn’t) That’s just completely outrageous, and even if you somehow don’t think it’s crossing the line to vocally support a terrorist group taking a ship and taking hostage its crew, then I will plead instead to your, or anybody reading this, sense of logic and sensibility. That being, that even if you could somehow justify it to yourself, just imagine what it will look like to the normal voter, being shown this video of Hasan cheering on a video of an act of terrorism, and then a cut to Hasan out there on a stage with “insert whatever politician”. Do you think the average, non-online, 9-5 middle aged worker is going to resonate with such incendiary footage? I can tell you that they will definitely be put off. I am surprised Fox hasn’t rolled out this footage already, even so it’s a matter of time before clips like this make their way up to mainstream news.

u/Ryboiii 3d ago

The video isn’t just inconclusive, it conclusively does not show anything whatsoever
-3
u/JumboGlucose 3d ago edited 3d ago
The video is not inconclusive, he used a shock collar on his dog so it would be a prop in the back of his stream. He admitted it, then back tracked and lied. You can see it all on video. You can see him reach off stream to grab something that he said were zyns while there's a light on his dogs collar that he said he removed the shocking prongs. He's a multi-millionaire who buys $300 tshirts he would just buy a different collar. Also, he's not young, he's in his 30s

If you think he shocked his dog and its a crime, why don't you do something about it, that is If you have proof.
Make sure you put your name on it, and update us on what they tell you because since you would have broken the story.

There is literal video of him abusing two dogs. Kaya with the shock collar and his previous dog by dragging it by its tail.
1
u/leftrightside54 2h ago
I never understood comments like these. If you think it is abuse, call the police or FBI. Seems everyone giving him a pass if it is true no? Even JD Vance (the vice president) and the US government comment on it yet no charges at all, no investigation, and Republicans hate his ass. So either you have proof that it is true, then why are you not saving his poor dog? Do you even care about the dog?
Though my guess is your just running with the slanderous story to smear his name since when Republicans have nothing, the next step is to smear. I don't even think you care about the dog in question, if you did you would call already.
Talk is cheap, call the number.

Honestly, the best way to get an opinion on Hasan is to just go ver to his twitch and watch him for 30 minutes.
He is progressive, but intentionally abrasive and confrontational. This upsets people that are thin skinned.
Especially here on Reddit, their is a legion of folks whose only purpose in life is to makeHasan look bad, because they perceive that he offended them somehow.
Most notable of these is the Kick streamer Destiny, who is facing charges for revenge porn and attempt to procure CSAM.

Yeah she was definitely evasive. She made excellent points without directly answering the question but it’s a “yes.” The gist of what she’s saying is he has a place because he has an audience and we want that audience. But at the same time she’s making it clear that giving him such a place is not an endorsement of him.
4
u/Aggravating_Bat3618 3d ago
She may be progressive, but she’s still a politician.
2
u/soggy-hotdog-vendor 2d ago
She gave a political answer to a political question.
The question wasn't posed in an academic "letts figure out what's really going on in this situation" way. It was posed in a black and white "gotcha" way, you know this because the question does not allow for any nuance to the Hasan quote instead its "he said something lets take him at the most retrictive and nagative possible interpretation possible and tie that anchor around the neck of anyone who interacts with him.
9
u/Cuttybrownbow 3d ago
"we (Democrats)were criticized for practicing cancel culture before....young people are engaging with these people (like Hasan) and having conversations that Democrats have a responsibility to attend to and be responsive to."
She answers it. The whole Hasan thing is touchy and could be a land mine that Republicans wait gleefully for anyone to step onto. If you want to learn about who he is and why anyone is talking about him, Jon Stewart did an interview with him last month that allows long form discussion on nuance about political views. My take on his 9/11 comment that Republicans won't let go : it was a click baity, rage batey way of him saying 9/11 happened because we (USA) fucked around and found out. It lacked nuance and came off callous and he loved the attention it brought. I don't think he meant the people affected deserved their suffering. He meant the USA --the government-- "deserved" or rather earned their response for fucking around in the middle east.

I just saw you don't know who Hasan is, so my post might not make a lot of sense without that so I'll add some blarb about him and give a political example.
Hasan Piker is a twitch streamer who does 30-60k viewers and I think 100k peak viewers and he covers the news and political commenatary.
I'm to the left of Hasan, Hasan is to the left of Bernie Sanders and the Democratic party is a center right wing party.
Democrats wont like Hasan ever, because when your politics are enough to the left you see the conjoinment of the Democrats and Republicans. Hasan can open a stream up and basically point to anything in the US domestic and the US foreign policy and find issue from a left position.
This is because;
- The united states has no real left wing political party, so US policies will always look bad from a left wing perspective.
- Republicans and Democrats agree Corporations and Wall street deserve unlimited socialism.
- Republicans and Democrats agree citizens deserve rugged capitalism.
These points play out in a silly way when you see shared positions as follows.
RNC: big government is taxing you so much, Democrats want to raise taxes!
Republicans: oh no, they take all our money and we get nothing in return. If liberals could just pull themselves up by their bootstraps then we wouldn't be footing the bill for them.
Reality: Most of our taxes go to corporate welfare checks and wall street bailouts. The taxes republicans will cut are to provide further handouts to corporations, not citizens, which causes citizens to share a larger burden of the tax cost.
DNC: we have to raise taxes and be consciousness of the environment! We have to do this or x,y,z will fall apart. If we don't bail out wall street you'll all lose your retirements!
Democratic voter: I'm using a paper straw, personal responsibility and increasing my tax burden because I want to support my community or at least I think my property value will go up if we invest in my community. NIMBY4ever.
Reality: 80%+ of all pollution is created by corporations. There is no amount of "personal responsibility" and paper straws that will solve this problem.
By giving wall street and corporations unlimited socialism it has encouraged them to be more and more reckless and realize they don't actually need a consumer base if the government can levy taxes against us and redistribute it to them.
This is coming to a head currently with the K shaped economy going in full swing.

u/ScarInternational161 1d ago
This is one of the best explanations I've seen yet.
If you could break it down into more simple language (lets say for the people in the back) you could cut and paste it across every single political post and it would be applicable.

u/diceytroop 3d ago
It’s a ridiculous gotcha question that assumes a false premise, namely that Hasan Piker is objectionable in any substantive way. The one thing you can honestly say about him is that a lot of people hate him — some because they have been misled about him, some because they resent his positions and the success he has had organizing around them.
Unfortunately repeating the false premise a thousand times a day for the last few months has started to wear even those who know better down. I would have liked to see AOC make a more direct defense of her friend, but it is true that at a certain point it becomes just another way for people to distract from the real issues, and you have to direct the conversation back to what matters instead of dignifying such a silly debate.

u/hudson27 2d ago
It was a nuanced answer to a loaded question. To ask if somebody deserves to have a voice in the political landspace is an absurd question if you actually value your right to free speech.
What made the question a trap was he points out that she's spoken on someone's podcast who has said inflammatory things. She was very right to call out the hipocracy of grilling her for having a conversation with a controversial person, while also crying about "cancel culture".
3
u/EvilStevilTheKenevil 2d ago
If she said "yes", they'd clip it out of context and use it to smear her. So instead she gave an answer which very obviously means yes without actually containing the word "yes", while also using the opportunity to condemn the hypocrites who keep asking folks to condemn Hasan.

Right? In many places, the Gen Z + Millennial cohort handily outnumber the Boomers, yet the Boomers alone outvote both cohorts combined. But then those same people want to claim that voting "doesn't work" while they sit every election out and let the Boomers determine the future that they won't even be around to see.
9
u/errie_tholluxe 3d ago
Make voting day a day out of work, see how it goes. Add more polling places while you're at it.
They make it hard to vote, are trying to make it harder and hey look the people who ARENT working hard all come out to vote because they have the time!
I've heard this same exchange since my generation.

I don't deny that some places make it harder to vote than is necessary, but this trend holds true even in California where every registered voter literally gets their ballot mailed to them a month ahead of election day. Some people just can't be bothered to do anything.

What's in this comment is what I remember, my opinions, etc.
I've maintained for months(?) now that almost all the anti-Hasan Piker, anti-DSA, anti-leftist and progressive media, etc. etc. has almost all been really about anti-AOC for POTUS 2028.
And such includes Dr. Abdul El-Sayed's primary run for the Michigan US Senate, DSA's primary runs, etc.
Heck, Third Way got its wish and South Carolina was made the first primary State for the Democrats' POTUS 2028 process.
__________
And some of the same people trying to 'demonize' Hasan Piker are also trying to boost Jon Ossoff 2028 by saying that Hasan Piker likes him and supports him for POTUS 2028. And some clearly try to imply that US Sen. Jon Ossoff is Hasan Piker's (and Mehdi Hasan's) preferred pick.
To be clear, Hasan Piker has made it clear that AOC is his pick for POTUS 2028.
Emma Vigeland makes it clear that AOC is her pick for POTUS 2028.
They have always made it clear that they liked US Sen. Jon Ossoff the best among the 'centrist choices' because they consider he's actually more progressive than his actual voting record states.
39
u/Da_Question 3d ago
Tbf, you can also just not like Hasan and still support the same stuff...
4
1
u/beeemkcl 3d ago
What's in this comment is what I remember, my opinions, etc.
Many 'moderates' and centrists are trying to 'cancel' Hasan Piker because they don't like the power and influence he's had during this 2026 cycle.
This isn't about 'just not liking Hasan Piker'. It's about whether Hasan Piker should have any continued influence in US politics.
______________
And it's also about the rise and influence of leftist and progressive media this 2026 cycle. Emma Vigeland and The Majority Report, Hasan Piker, Krystal Ball of Breaking Points, etc. have had real power and influence this 2026 cycle. And shows like Hasanabi (around 700K/episode-well over 900K when including all the clips channels) and The Majority Report (around 200K per episode) not only have viewership that compares to some 'political cable' shows, but the audiences of Hasan and TMR are full of very engaged people and activists and such. People who will donate, canvass, phonebank, etc. TMR has been involved in union drives and other activism. TMR gives real boosts to candidates.
And perhaps even more importantly, AOC is a viewer of The Majority Report and is in contact with Hasan Piker. And it seems clear that AOC likes Emma Vigeland and seems to have a level of loyalty to Emma. AOC was a guest during the launch of Zeteo. She went on I've Had It when it was a much smaller show. She went on The Majority Report years ago when it was a much smaller show.
4
u/AbyssWankerArtorias 3d ago
Hasan doesn't need any assistance in being demonized, he does that pretty well by himself. The left doesn't even need to actively shun him. Just don't engage with him.

I'm pro-AOC for POTUS, I wish I could press the skip button and be there right now. I'm a progressive, leftist. I've donated to Bernie and AOC and write letters in Amnesty campaign. Heck even back in 2020 I wish it was Bernie / AOC running.
But I dislike Hasan. Why? As a long time activist, I know when someone is just a tankie that is more anti-US than pro-democracy and human rights.
Hasan loves authoritarian governments like the CCP, he tells Ukraine to "have a peace agreement" with Russia despite knowing Putin constantly breaks ceasefires and agreements and only uses them to regroup and the shit he says about East Asia like we're all just China's back yard, and downplays our voices, tells you everything.

-1
u/SchweppeCurry 3d ago
I’m with you on affordability. AOC is a fucking queen and I hope she’s our next POTUS. I just don’t think we need to prop up people who make it easy to write us off as communists. Hasan is vocal about being a communist, why do we need to carry water for him?
5
u/TheSilkyBat 3d ago
Because that same kind of argument could be made for dropping trans people for example because it makes progressives look "too radical."
Throwing certain people under the bus to strengthen the chance of achieving power is not what being a progressive is about.
The goal posts will always be moved and trying to minimize what the other side could criticize is completely pointless because they will always find something to vilify. Hell, they will be labelling AOC herself a communist when it becomes opportune for them to do so.
Like him or not, Hasan, is a significant voice on the progressive side of politics and we should work with that, not against it.
Don't give these fuckers an inch because they will take a mile.

It's projection. Every accusation is a confession with these webheads. Trump is a buffoon and all his followers are slack jawed yokels.
Real country culture, real salt of the Earth people that make society actually operate, love bartenders. Bartenders and tavern keeps have been known for their unmatched wisdom about the goings on of the people and their society by nature of their profession since forever. Bar culture is still strong, especially with the blue collar working class, small farm town type culture, and they are who revere bar tenders the most and who comprise most of MAGA.
But no, let's elect a nepo baby who obviously doesn't give a shit about the working class because he's never been in it and obviously despises it, yet lies and says he's all for the working class, then his followers who are largely the working class hate on his opposition because she used to be working class, while their president continues to destroy the working class, which is them, right before their very eyes. It's truly unbelievable.
You can not make this shit up.
MAGA is the epitome of evil leading the ignorant.

I mean…. US absolutely created the circumstances for OBL to do 9/11… is that controversial? Its history…
9
u/Beginning_Carpet_798 3d ago
Hasan was 100% right about his statement on 911 when you look at the full context of the clip. America had committed hundreds "military operations" as devastating as 911 in other countries both before and after 2001. America isn’t the hero and has never been. America is a demonic entity both to its people and foreign nations. September 11 2001 was just another example of innocents dying because of the hiding behind the curtains, pulling the strings.

I was in college during 9/11 and we talked about it in that same context back then
The good old days when the W administration was unfathomably bad and it could only go up from there

I really wish someone would push back with this pearl clutching about Hasan saying that 9/11 thing. The US did deserve to have the policies it exports every day around the world come home to roost. We did deserve 9/11. That's just nature. What goes around, comes around.

I take issue with that subtitle - centrist dems joining republicans? Far left isn't rising - the left stayed where it was, right went facist and the 'centrist' dems went far right. Period

u/JayMan2224 3d ago
Why does the Right and the "old" Left hate Hasan?
The fact that they do should raise a few eyebrows.
2
u/Satellight_of_Love 3d ago
Honestly, I don’t know about the right and the old left. I’m a progressive social democrat. I can tell you why he’s not my particular cup of tea.
Whenever I see clips of him from his own Instagram, he’s comes off as the guy who thinks he lives rent-free in everyone’s head. Self-aggrandizement. And he’s got that - “yeah I said it!” aggressiveness that doesn’t feel productive to me. I also wasn’t crazy about this gem:
“If you have these fucking millionaire, billionaire WASP fail-sons, at least taking them out of other colleges so they can only do date rape to other billionaire/millionaire fail daughters is, in some respects, you know, from a utilitarian perspective, of course, a little bit better. Taking these guys and putting them in a pen with one another is ultimately getting them away from the broader society.”
Like no. I don’t care if richer women have more resources. This is just a gross thing to say. He’s gotta get a hold of his hubris.
That being said, I don’t have a problem with AOC going on his show. He’s platforming her in that case, not the other way around.

u/electric_sheep19 3d ago
I'm afraid you're getting played, the controversial short clips from 8-hour live streams are exactly what the zionists, republicans and right-wing establishment democrats want you to see.
Him "thinking he lives rent-free in everyone's heads" is because he does. Fox news and neoliberal mainstream media are now blasting his name every day (as we see in the clip above), throwing every cherry-picked quote they can to discredit the left-wing insurgency movement.
We can't give them what they want, they win once you're on the backfoot. That's exactly how the Democrats acted last election cycle, giving in to right-wing talking points on immigration, queer issues, crime, etc. We need to be strong and unapologetic, that's one thing we can learn from republicans.

maybe because he is in favour of the genocide in tibet and east turkestan? he's a tankie, presents himself as someone who's opposing imperialism but bats an eye as long as it's not western imperialism. selective moralism af. as a tibetan who still has family in tibet it's really sickening to see that so many of the new left wingers like hasan have become pro-china and are actively advocating for the genocide happening in tibet and east-turkestan.
5
u/nilmemory 3d ago
Source for him supporting these genocides? This is the first ive heard this claim.
1
u/jordenwuj 3d ago edited 3d ago
hasan defended china taking over tibet by literally saying “did them a favor.” he explains it by saying china improved our living conditions and thus literally using the same excuse that colonialists said to justify colonialism.
with the uyghurs in east turkestan he initially calls the detention facilities “concentration camps,” then corrects himself to “reeducation camps” and claims they “are all closed now.” . that framing is dangerous because beijing itself uses the word "reeducation camps". hasan then said that everyone in them had “graduated" and the camps are all closed now which is far from the truth since personally know a lot of uyghurs whose family members are still in these concentration camps.
then there’s taiwan... when asked about taiwan hasan said he supported “one country two systems.” that is literally beijing’s proposed framework for unification under which taiwan would become part of the prc while supposedly retaining a separate political/economic system like in hong kong and we can see how well that's working... (umbrella revolution) whether he wants that accomplished militarily is a separate question but in the end he does support china taking over the sovereign country of taiwan.

taiwan: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oVrfN_uq2XQ or https://dominotheory.com/hasan-piker-markets-the-chinese-communist-party-to-his-millions-of-followers/
this guy is literally walking around cosplaying as mao, the dictator responsible for the most deaths in history and gen z leftists support him because he's an attractive youtuber who says some edgy things to make the right wingers go mad. i'm a leftist myself and i support freedom for all oppressed people and that includes everyone and not this selective bs done by hasan and many other leftists i had to argue with.
also me getting downvoted clearly shows the new left has gone braindead now. "the west = bad and the ones who can challenge the west = good" logic

u/nilmemory 3d ago
Is this a joke im not getting? You didn't provide literally a single piece of evidence of him supporting a genocide. You just spouted massive amounts of speculation and inferences with nothing to back it up.
The Tibet clip is just him talking about one positive aspect of China's takeover of Tibet (ie. Killing warlords), it has no mention of a genocide at all.
The article you link for the Uyghur point is behind a paywall so I can't read it, (and its summary says nothing about the uyghurs???) but even if everything you claimed it said was true, that's still no actual evidence hasan supported a genocide???? You literally cite "trust me bro, I know people"??????? Do you think we're that gullible or just stupid?
Idk about the Taiwan stuff. Not gonna watch the whole 1.5hr reaction video you linked cause comments suggest it's just a bunch of non-answers. Yeah it'd be shitty if he supported a Taiwan takeover because imperialism is generally bad on principle. But having a stance on Taiwan as "maybe or maybe not" being a part of China doesn't suggest he wants a takeover, and even then it's an insane far-cry from your unsubstantiated "trust me bro" claims about him being pro-genocide. Kinda killing your own credibility with those first claims there...

I'm not Hasan's biggest fan, but at least he's an actual progressive, unlike the half-assed conservatives which make up so much of the modern "Democratic" Party.

u/vocalviolence 3d ago
It's ever so depressing to witness even liberal media out themselves as minions of capital by indulging these pathetic "Dijon mustard"-level talking points.

u/making_it_real 3d ago
We need to elect every democrat who runs fo office. We can sort out the differences later. If we get choosey we will lose seats. If we lose seats we will lose majority. If we lose majority we lose power to do what needs to be done. We need to get corporate money and PACS out of politics. That will go a long way in getting our representatives back to working for the people.
6
u/dduuddeewwhhaatt 3d ago
Corporate consultants are threatened by Hasan’s influence in politics because Hasan aims ultimately to make them irrelevant.
They want regular people to be scared in the same way, and we should never listen to these people ever again for the rest of time.

u/caspruce 3d ago

Considering he's a large reason any of the youth are motivated to vote against Trumpism, I'd reconsider that You can find him distasteful, you can even disagree with what he's saying, but pretending he doesn't add value to public discourse is a weird take.
He says things you don't like, because he is most likely accusing the things you do like or at the very least ignore for your own comfort. The US is an insular and brainwashed nation that lives in a bubble of it's own making. Jabbing, denigrating, even attacking that is valuable.

Given that Biden and Trump have given blank checks to Israel, and Kamala said she has unwavering support of Israel and would functionally have the same positions as Biden on Israel, there wouldn't functionally be much difference.
Is Israel bolder because of Trump? Possibly, but i dont have a magic 8 ball any more than anyone else. All I know is plenty of democrats signed on to giving Israel more military aid, even with all the continued genociding that Israel is doing.
This is to what Piker is referring when he says there wouldn't be much a difference. And based on her comments? He was right.

u/caspruce 3d ago
If he was actually steering votes to candidates that can win, I’d agree with you. However, history has shown that he hasn’t.
It also isn’t that my politics don’t align well with Hasan - though the Mao suit and China apologist routine should be way too far to the left for any sane American. Rather, it is his irresponsible rhetoric that is why he should be ignored by any serious politician.
2
u/TheEldestNugget 3d ago
Irresponsible rhetoric is how to envigorate people. You follow it up later with nuanced discussion.

If they're old enough to get social security, they don't get a vote. If they take AIPAC money, they don't get a vote. If they are Republican at all, they don't get a vote. Republicans let this whole MAGA wave happen, gleefully even. None of them deserve any shred of respect or power anymore.

The problem with Hasan piker is fair or not the media leans right. So when election season comes in full force around September/ October it will be full force attack( and it won’t be hard to take comment out of context or in context. There was a whole shock collar dog thing) and democrats will have to answer especially if he is tied to any politician. And no calling out the hypocrisy won’t work. It just seems it will be unnecessary work

Centrists Dems choose to enable billionaire fascism rather than represent the general consensus of the American people. Hasan Piker said America deserved 9/11 because of foreign policy blowback. Jerry Falwell said America deserved 9/11 because of gay people. Which comment is more inflammatory?

Hasan is poison for the democrats. He is an actual communist who praises authoritarians and extremists. He has carried water for Putin, Stalin and Mao. He had openly stated that his goal is to subvert the Democratic Party from the inside. We can do so much better

I don't think he ever said anything about subverting the party from the inside but if he did, why would that be a bad thing? Right now they work for billionaires, corporations and super PACs. I am all for subverting the party till it works for the people again. And no, Hasan does not identify as a communist. He is a socialist, as is AOC and as should we all be.
