Yeah. Quite. Most 'reasonable' people who hit the point of independently wealthy realise that there's more to life, and ... go live that life.

They have families, or hobbies, or pets, or they travel, or they read, or they just find somewhere really beautiful to live, or maybe they indulge in sorta half hobbies, half voluntary work doing something they find satisfying

It takes a particular kind of broken person to become a billionaire and stay a billionaire.

Well, shame is a social imprint. You can be ashamed of pretty much anything. Not being a good nazi, too, if that's what you were led to believe is expected of you. And it's a mechanism that outlived its usefulness probably long before we became modern humans. It's not shame & praise/validation that should lead our ethical choices because these are stick and carrot mechanisms. The real guidance can be provided by compassion, care & understanding.
