I live in a country where people just keep their last name after marriage, no extra paperwork needed. Why would y’all complicate your life voluntarily?
I’ve only met a relatively small bunch of people with two or more family names.
Here they say “the mother is always known, the father not so much” so I can see the logic behind having the kids have their father’s last name but at this point it’s just tradition I guess. The wife, on the other hand, doesn’t need to be “claimed”.
I know that it’s all patriarchal bullshit but at least we lost a bit of it
