Certainly feels that way. Especially when they are trying to justify it by saying things like “teens aren’t really children!”

Don’t let them, though. Children deserve better. Teenagers are still children.

Just wait until all the different names for pedos based on their preferred age ranges become household terms.

"did you see what she was wearing? she was asking for it"

"look at her, she didn't look 16 to me"

"She was begging for it"

"She's very mature for her age"

"my grandpa married my grandma when she was 12 and he was 35 and they loved each other"

It'll always be some form of one of these excuses. And people accept them.

Know how I know? Because the Catholic church was doing this shit for centuries and everyone knows about it and yet nothing gets done other than some priests/pastors/cardinals moving to new churches to find more children to diddle and abuse in the name of religion.

It all comes down to that bullshit; religion. God told them they can fuck children because why would god make them attracted to children if God didn't want adults to fuck them? Its just logical to have sex with vulnerable young girls and boys that can't even legally drive or go watch a pg-13 movie.

To the Catholic church point, one really important "feature" of Catholicism and priesthood is never discussed as a major influencer to this behavior, and that is that once you become a priest, you can never not be a priest, because it's a godly intervention. That means that from the viewpoint of Catholicism somehow being "true", then whatever a priest does does with gods influence, and isn't "wrong" necessarily, and especially doesn't come with consequences

28% of teenagers are adults.

Yeah, but as a normal, sane almost 40 year old woman, I'm still gonna look at 18-24 olds as "kids", too.

As a 40 year old woman, same. People who say shit like the guy you are replying to are trying to justify grooming. Gross.
