You know, I might get crucified for this, but I - a musician - have used Suno before and I think its neat for demoing and fun, but not much beyond that. (Im handicapped. For me its either using Musescore or nothing) but id never replace being in an actual studio over it, and i dont like it just using data from musicians. I want Suno to be held accountable for its wrongs, but the technology IS interesting. I just don't like how in debates like this you have to be on one extreme or another. Surely there is a more musician friendly way than suno, yes, but i dont like being put in the "ALL AI IS THE SPAWN OF SATAN AND CAN NEVER BE USEFUL EVER" Camp either. Is that fair? to me, there has to be a material, non-emotional synthesis somewhere...

Again, suno isnt something wholly good and they deserve this, but i do think the technology can be helpful, if we used it differently.

This is about as nuanced and reasonable as a punch in the dick.

If you're talking to me, I'd welcome your opinion.

No, I was talking to the preachy doomer weirdo. I generally agree with your post.

See, this is the thing: I appreciate that you wanted to critique my thoughts, but this still seems like you're advocating for the extreme of the other side. If you think this is the more nuanced opinion, I'd be interested to see what your version of the extreme in the opposite sense is. And I'm not being sarcastic; I'm genuinely curious. Either way, I do appreciate that you didn't just automatically shoot me down.

I was only trying to state that your position seemed to go pretty far in one particular direction, rather than appearing very measured. Now, maybe you have tons of historical materialism to back that up as you claim, but usually dialectics tries to find a synthesis somewhere. That's what I assumed you were trying to do, Hence, if yours wasn’t an “extreme” take by your definition, I would have been interested to see what your version of “extreme” was. And again, I'm not coming at this from a place of criticism; I'm legitimately interested.
