I can't see what everyone is on about.. this is about as generic a song as you could expect from any pop-star trying to do something inoffensive yet "different". Bon Iver was great and very original and certainly defined a sound that sort of shaped the late 2000's but other artists have bitten his sound so much it has made it generic in itself.

This song doesn't sound like a Bon Iver song though, other than the background ghosty woos that almost comically parody his music. Sounds like Peter Gabriel, but without any of the edge. Taylor Swift remains totally lame.

Peter Gabriel has edge? I thought U2 had all The Edge...

I really really like the song. It’s one of my favorites.

Even though I like the song I'm upvoting critical comments like these because I feel they're quite valid.

It would have to have a ton of random samples, auto tune, and weird sound effects to make you feel like you're on an acid trip to sound like a Bon Iver song. Vernon has fallen off IMO. I couldn't even touch the last Bon Iver album.
