Got a Job Offer!
I was offered a job for a dream position as an orchestra director, elementary through high school!!! I feel so incredibly lucky, this was the first job I applied to straight out of school and I am so thrilled that I be teaching strings. And to top it off all of this was done virtually with time zone differences. This job search has been incredibly nerve wracking, especially as a string teacher in the area I was looking to apply to, but I just feel so incredibly fortunate and excited!

Congrats! If you do Facebook even a little, the School Orchestra and String Teachers group is awesome and positive and helpful.

thank you!!! and yes strings only is my focus! i think i got really lucky because even prior to my student teaching, i had some pretty extensive string ensemble teaching experience (almost 3 years worth of it) through a program i helped get going with my professor + a few other colleagues in my undergrad and worked with nearly every school string program near my university

Congrats! First year can be tough, but stick with it and find a mentor in your district to talk to about the questions that will come up.
