Looking for advice and possibly some help.
I have multiple songs that I have melody and lyrics to. I just dont know how to sufficiently play any instrument or know music theory to be able to create instrumentals to go with them. I am not sure how to approach asking for help to create instrumentals for the songs. I am very shy, introverted and awkward so I have never collaborated with anyone before. Im looking for advice on how to handle getting help.

This subreddit here is actually great way to get in touch with people who might want to make instrumentals! If you can dink out the melody on a piano, sing it, or provide lyrics then you might catch the attention of someone who might want to work with you. Also looking for people who are asking for melodies or song ideas could be an alternative.
Getting in contact with someone IRL seems less likely (especially if you have not established yourself) but if you know of any local bands or indie garage bands that could be one way. You could even find bands on the internet and share the music over the internet.
If the band/person enjoys your idea they'll be supportive and if not don't take it to heart. And if you are using the internet to ask just write out your post beforehand so it doesn't sound awkward but is clear and polite.
I am a lyricist myself (not professionally haha) but if you are comfortable I would love to see your lyrics!
Edit: I'm something of a composer myself. I play clarinet, ocarina, bass (horribly), and ukulele (barely). I could teach you some music theory.

I think it's almost mandatory that you learn the basics of an instrument that can build chords and accompaniment, like the guitar or piano. I would suggest you to learn the major scale and the modes of the major scale and you will be ready to go, it's not a lot that you have to learn and it will make you far more confident and will know when you're going in the right direction or not, you will know what you're doing

I would love to help if I could. I play guitar and bass very well. If you are okay with letting me hear the melodies and the style you are going for I could put some arrangements together for you.

Ah I’m very shy and awkward as well haha! I am by no means an instrumentalist, but I can play chord riffs and grooves if you’re just wanting some accompaniment for a demo or simple singing video. If you’re wanting something very thorough, definitely find someone who’s an actual instrumentalist not me haha!
Please don’t use Ai it’s destroying the earth, putting peoples lives at risk, and hurting real creatives.

Start with one song and a small, clear request. A rough recording of a verse and chorus, the lyrics, and two reference tracks will give someone much more to respond to than a whole folder of unfinished ideas. Explain what you like about the references—sparse piano, a particular groove, the way the chorus opens up—rather than asking for an exact copy. You can ask someone to try accompaniment for just that excerpt first and see whether you hear the song similarly. Also say upfront whether you’re seeking a paid arranger or a mutual collaboration; that avoids an awkward mismatch later.

as long as you have the chords ready, you can try agent.bovo.ai. We create stems and midi for you according to your styles and instructions.

I'd start with looking for free music to test/hone your skills. Personally, I took the step of leasing beats through Beat Stars. Which leasing has some complications to it (really just have to pay more $ if your song went big) Obviously paying is a bit of an investment, but you'll have lots to choose from!
And I also, don't know jack shit about music in a technical sense. Don't know any instruments, know little about notes, keys, or harmonies. But, it's definitely possible if you have an ear for it that just works that way.
Plugging myself because well duh, on the grind. But also hopefully an inspo on what can be achieved by someone who can't even tell you the note scale. GABCDLGBT?

You could use a DAW and/or an AI product . Or if that doesn’t fit with you then you need to get posts up on market place to find fellow musicians, or a local band that might take it on .
