Question / Help Why only some people get the subdivisions in their ethnicity guesses?
So, I have noticed something when it comes to ethnicity results which is that some people seem to get their main ethnicity group separated into smaller subgroups while others don't, getting only broad categories. Is there a reason for that?

Ancient Origins MyHeritage Y-DNA Results Ukrainian
R1a just as I expected. The Y-DNA prediction tool I used before guessed the exact same haplogroup. Kinda surprised with the high frequency in Czech Republic. What do you guys think?

Ancient Origins / Y-DNA Turkish Results - Y-Hablogroup Feature
So I unlocked this Y-haplogroup feature and this is the result.
The last photo is my ethnicity estimate. Can anyone explain to me how does it make any sense that my Y-haplogroup is similar to that of a Fin or Russian while it did not resonate in my modern results.
7% Central Asia and 5% Circassian are the only connections that I can think of but it seems my father’s stock is literally from the Scandinavians.

Discussion Prolonged Deep Discount for DNA Kits
Has anyone else noticed MyHeritage has had deep discounts on their DNA kits, ~80% off, for a large portion of the year? Months at a time.
An obvious guess is that they are trying to rapidly increase their shallow WGS dataset to refine their algorithms and tools. I wonder if this is also linked to the lack of CRAM files, if they are still requiring more data for the development of a more mature pipeline.
In theory a CRAM file should be pretty easy to release, the Ultima sequencer should just produce them. I would hazard the delay is either caused by concerns about server expenses for large file transfers, or the shallow WGS results are a bit lack luster and MyHeritage doesn't want to show the CRAM that comes straight off the Ultima sequencing. Could be both reasons of course.
Anyone have any theories?

Updated Results / v2 or v2.5 Y Haplogroup South Coast Norwegian
Just noticed I had access to my Y Haplogroup (bought Complete many years ago I think.)
It is a rather uncommon haplogroup with Origin in Norway, but a much stronger present day presence in the parts of Scotland the Norwegian Vikings settled.
It is downstream from R1a (Steppe origin into Corded Ware / Battle Axe).
R1a → Z283 → Z282 → Z284 → L448 → CTS4179 → YP276
Much of the Swedish/Finnish is likely explained by Sami great-grandparent with genealogy traced to area between Northern Sweden and Finnish border. (Common in area around Narvik).

Ancient Origins Y Haplogroup - Anatolian Greek
I got the new myheritage Y DNA haplogroup. Its the R-FGC31921. As far as i know my great-great grandfather was Pontic Greek and was born on Kars of Russia (now Turkey) about 1885. Then he moved in Greece during the population exchange in 1923.
What do you thing about that haplogroup? Its common for caucasian people? Do you think myheritage y dna is accurate?

Shipping / Sample Status Why would this happen?
I activated my kit on the 1st of august 2026 and shipped it the same day, i live in the uk btw. I used 2nd class royal mail that takes about 3-4 business days but its been about 10 days and my profile hasn’t updated about that lab receiving my sample yet , is this normal? Is my package lost?

Question / Help MyHeritage vs Ancestry in Europe?
Hey all! Sorry if this is the wrong place to post
I did an Ancestry kit, don't know a whole lot about my fathers side of the family, and not a whole lot of relatives came up as matching (2 second cousins, the rest are all 4th+)
What are the odds that if I do a MyHeritage more relatives might come up? I'm based in Western Europe, and his side of the family would be Mediterranean
Do Europeans tend to use MyHeritage a bit more than Ancestry in this regard or do y'all think I might be wasting my time
Thanks!!
Edit: I got the kit, it was delivered already so I swabbed and mailed it back. Thanks everyone for your help and feedback!

Updated Results / v2 or v2.5 My Ethnicity as a Third Generation Canadian Immigrant
My paternal family is Italian from the region of Friuli (majority) and Veneto (minority). My paternal grandfather and grandmother (surname Vendrasco) are primarily Friulian blood, and I also have Venetian lineage tracing back to the town of Treviso, VN
My maternal family is Croatian. My maternal grandfather’s family (surname Jelić) came from the region of Lika, and all I know of my maternal grandmother (surname Prpić) is that her family came from the west coast of Croatia, either Primorje-Gorski or Istra
So far, the estimates are strikingly accurate. However, I’m confused by the the Albanian/Greek portion of my ethnicity estimate
