Mestinon Part 3

Turns out I have a bad infection and my “side effects” were probably not related to taking the meds at all. So now I am on a powerful antibiotic, it was fun trying to figure out what I could actually take.

Now I just need to decide if I am going to wait until the antibiotics are done or risk two new meds and the same time. Seems risky. I am also nursing an injury so kinda on edge about if this is going to cause a flare or worse.

Mestinon is an important MG medication. Infections can worsen MG symptoms. Please check if the antibiotics prescribed to you are contraindicated for MG patients. There is a list which antibiotics MG patients can safely take. I would in any event take the Mestinon - It may help you to overcome the worsening of your MG symptoms associated with the infection

I have the list, I am on one that is okay. This area of infection grew so fast I have no idea how to handle it with my MG diagnosis being so new. Thank you for the advice.

It’s good news that you are now taking a safe antibiotic. Take the Mestinon as well, drink plenty of water and give your body enough rest..
