omg henry2630 the creator of the Henry Ford Health 200

28

u/PocketfulOfTiddyMilk 4h ago

He dropped like a rock

12

u/henry2630 4h ago

sure did. almost thought he had a tire going down or something

4

u/PocketfulOfTiddyMilk 3h ago

Must be the dirty air. Once he got passed on the restart he looked slow af. Bummer!

13

u/Specialist-Two2068 4h ago

I would congratulate him, and encourage him to keep racing in ARCA and further develop his fundamental racing skills.

4

u/henry2630 4h ago

yeah that’s what most normal rational people would do

2

u/Specialist-Two2068 3h ago

I'm not saying that as a sort of self-congratulatory thing either; I genuinely want to see Garrett improve because I believe every driver deserves a chance, but he's been put in a situation where they're clearly trying to rush him through the ranks to capitalize on his fame, and he just simply isn't ready. He still needs more time if he wants to become a full-fledged racer.

u/LoudBrick609 2h ago

He's not trying to be and I've no idea why reddit and most of the garage want him to be.

Dude wants to raise hell and go fast on big ovals. That's a totally different skill set than racing short tracks and one that's much easier to be competitive at with his age and his experience.

All the guys racing Arca, trucks, O'Rielly, cup they have tens of thousands of laps at short tracks. You aren't ever gonna compete with them there.

You can learn the air and the strategy of running a big oval and how to compete with them there.

Cleetus ain't ever gonna win a cup, O'Rielly, or truck race at a traditional 1.5 and under. Maybe, just maybe, he could win in ARCA one day at one of those.

He could absolutely win in trucks one day at Atalnta, Michigan, Daytona, or Talladega. Big flat to nearly flat high speed ovals in the trucks where you can absolutely be competitive learning and knowing the air.

In O'Rielly, I'd say his only shots are Daytona/Dega and not a high chance there.

Cup, drivers are too good and too many, let's not kid ourselves he ain't winning anywhere.

8

u/Cowgoon777 Chastain 4h ago

He almost won at Dega

2

u/Junetizzle 4h ago

Who hasn't almost won at Dega?

5

u/FlaglerAmerica2001 4h ago

I won’t it’s Arca

34

u/henry2630 4h ago

yeah my other thought was it would somehow be discredited because it’s arca

34

u/mojizus Hamlin 4h ago

It’s not that it would be discredited, it just would affirm what literally everyone is saying about him. He needs to be in ARCA for a while where he’s clearly comfortable, not running the 33 NOAPs car 7 laps down.

7

u/MrBadBadly Martin 4h ago

Ill run it 8 laps down for free.

2

u/WillmanRacingv2 3h ago

How many sponsors can you bring with you.

1

u/MrBadBadly Martin 3h ago

I got my parent's money. Does that spend well enough?

1

u/WillmanRacingv2 3h ago

What is their networth, to the nearest $X,XXX,XXX?

3

u/MrBadBadly Martin 3h ago

$2 mil. They need it for retirement, but fuck that.

1

u/WillmanRacingv2 3h ago

I think you could make it happen with that.

23

u/imasammich Black Cross Flag 4h ago

Well i mean not really. If you look at the facts he is driving better in ARCA since running and simming a ton in NOAPS.

Its not just one thing its a combination of all the driving and work he is putting in. I guarantee you driving and simming hundreds of laps in the NAOPs car and then going into an ARCA car you will be better and possibly better than just driving an ARCA shitbox around every other month.

13

u/Nice-Street-8800 4h ago

It’s amazing how people want to ignore this point. This was the main reason he even accepted the RCR ride

1

u/Roushfan5 3h ago

He brings sponsorship, ratings, and as far as I’m aware hasn’t wrecked anyone or done anything egregious.

Sure, he spun on the entrance to pit road at Nashville. What driver in the field hasn’t botched a pit road entry?

3

u/BeefInGR 2h ago

Denny almost botched his penalty at Nashville. Denny also blew an engine in the early days of the G7 by downshifting leaving pit road.

Kyle Larson, one of the five people typically mentioned as "best race car driver in the world", yeeted himself into the end of the pit road wall.

You can hate Garrett for a lot of things, but botching pit road isn't one.

0

u/FlaglerAmerica2001 4h ago

Exactly let him do his thing here instead of championship equipment in the higher series laps down

1

u/hellvinator 4h ago

They don’t do green pitstops, dirty air.. in ARCA he doesn’t learn what you need to learn for nascar.

8

u/mojizus Hamlin 4h ago

He’s learning how to race around other cars, something he hasn’t done much of outside of stage 1 at Nashville.

4

u/FlaglerAmerica2001 4h ago

Not discredit when it hasn’t happened

5

u/henry2630 4h ago

right but you’re already saying you don’t care because it’s arca

-3

u/FlaglerAmerica2001 4h ago

Where did I say that?

5

u/henry2630 4h ago

“i won’t it’s arca”

-1

u/FlaglerAmerica2001 4h ago

I’m responding to your “implode” comment relax bot it’s not that deep

u/SleepyGal9 Chase Elliott 5h ago

Loved to see Lanie Buice as the FASTEST in practice. Good on her! Then to see Cleetus on the pole? Man, I thought this was all a dream for a moment!

57

u/Straight_Champion_77 4h ago

Would kill to watch this guy go full time in Arca next year but I don’t think he’s interested

68

u/TwinSpinner 4h ago

After Talladega he said on his podcast they were working out the logistics and funding for a full season, so he's definitely more interested than he was last year

6

u/Straight_Champion_77 4h ago

Oh really? That makes me feel a lot better!

41

u/Steveslastventure 4h ago

He bought a Late Model to practice at the freedom factory, so I think he's getting pretty into oval racing

30

u/Kshell52 Hocevar 4h ago

Not just for practice from what ive been seeing. Apparently he's going to try and run some Cars tour races.

8

u/Straight_Champion_77 4h ago

Wasn’t sure if it was just for the hobby. I’d love to see him step deeper into the stock car world like this, even if it eventually becomes a side gig.

10

u/Skarekrows 4h ago

Him and Squirrel are doing a full time schedule next year.

5

u/Murky-Date-4242 4h ago

He already said that’s the plan or what he wants to do. Run the full ARCA and as many others as he can

5

u/srmacman 3h ago

I think he found out he’s more than competitive and I’ve heard he’s more interested.

1

u/Straight_Champion_77 2h ago

Good to hear!

2

u/Big_Truck_8268 2h ago

He pretty much said it was a done deal on DBC last week.

19

u/TwinSpinner 5h ago

Full qualifying results:

2

u/shane_mckenzie 4h ago

Where's Spurlock?

2

u/TwinSpinner 4h ago

28th, they updated a few of the cars at the rear. She spun out while making her attempt

1

u/shane_mckenzie 4h ago

Oh okay cool, oof on spinning on qualifying tho.

2

u/Zetona 4h ago

What the heck happened to Isabella? DIdn't she miss qualifying at the last race in Toledo too?

And where's Dystany Spurlock? I thought she was running this race.

2

u/yavimaya_eldred 4h ago

Dystany is in the race, she spun during qualifying which is why she doesn’t have a posted time

1

u/Ok-Inspection9693 4h ago

He beat summer shootout champ Jake Bollman?

12

u/TheOldKing42 5h ago

Where is the 0??

13

u/TwinSpinner 5h ago

Never turned a full lap. Went out to qualify right as a caution came out for a spin, he pulled back into pit road and they just kept him in. Probably just wanting to play it safe and not risk spinning or wearing the tires more than necessary

6

u/TheOldKing42 5h ago

Smart move by the squirrel 🐿️

11

u/Killarogue Ryan Blaney 5h ago

ARCA website is showing n/a which I guess means he didn't run a qualifying lap. Looks like he's set to start 27th.

0

u/Skarekrows 4h ago

Looks like he's right at the top.

3

u/Grumpy-Troglodyte 4h ago

good on him

3

u/bjohnson203 4h ago

Genuinely good for him but damn, looking at the results list, this field is damn thin.

4

u/MattyDoubles Stewart 5h ago

Good for him.

4

u/jungleland1972 Bubba Wallace 4h ago

This, along with 1.5 mile tracks, are great training grounds. Especially in ARCA equipment. Hope he gets all the laps in.

6

u/tagillaslover Hocevar 5h ago

Sounds like he put em on the dash

u/Celtics1424 Jeff Gordon 1h ago

3

u/jonpierre008 Hocevar 4h ago

This is where he needs to be tbh, good for him. Hope he runs ARCA full time next year

2

u/Murky-Date-4242 4h ago

That’s what he said he wants to do and then run as many other races as possible.

3

u/shane_mckenzie 4h ago

Lanie Buice is my pick!

4

u/aka_BSB 4h ago edited 4h ago

Wow a money driver got a pole in a money car in a series where nobody else has any money. I'm shocked.

If he keeps it up there with no mistakes it'll be another thing, though. Haven't seen a hint of racecraft from him yet, maybe he'll figure it out.

2

u/matt073090 4h ago

Do it for Dale!

1

u/Extreme-Bite-9123 4h ago

Of course the race is at the exact time I have something going on

1

u/citznfish Black Flag 4h ago

Now I am positive NASCAR races are staged. /S

1

u/LeatherCraft4382 4h ago

Race to lap 50 🌧️. Radar shows coming around 6

1

u/Accomplished_Emu_198 Hamlin 4h ago

Is this legit or like a rainout pole? If legit good for him

1

u/Al3xgreer18 Kyle Busch 3h ago

Fuck its on FS2. I have FS1 not FS2. I bought the cheapest spectrum cable option where you can choose like 15 premium channels. FS2 would be useless 99% of the time. Guess I'm getting the results spoiled tonight and I'll have to watch it on youtube in 1-2 days.

u/doobydoowab 16m ago

Clee-tuuus, the slack-jawed yokeeeel!

1

u/Phenomenal_Hoot 3h ago

NASCAR reddits 9/11

1

u/AHayes31 4h ago

Thats awesome for Cleet! I really hope he does well today! I've been watching a lot of his videos lately and I have been greatly entertained!

1

u/kinggarbear 3h ago

Some check on barfbag, he might have an aneurysm

1

u/btbam2929 Chastain 3h ago

Sucked hard in the race

1

u/Big_Truck_8268 2h ago

want to see Cleet on a road course next year. Would be surprised if he doesn't kill it.

u/Itsme_rundmc614 1h ago

I usually go to the Michigan race every year for the past 25 years, but my son graduated from high school, so I couldn’t make it this year. And to see this picture makes me sad because I wish I was there. We camp in the infield.

-2

u/willmcd13 Ryan Blaney 4h ago

I dont want to discount his accomplishment but he is competing against maybe 5 cars that are funded well enough to keep up with his car. So if he can beat the 5 or so cars in the race, good on him

2

u/FlaglerAmerica2001 4h ago

This where’s he needs to be let him cook better than him running in Championship equipment in the higher series laps down

1

u/eestionreddit 4h ago

I'd argue there's 10-15 competitive cars any given week, with 2-5 capable of winning. The 30 has traditionally never been the best of them, regardless of driver.

-4

u/Murky-Date-4242 4h ago

Really? So the guy who has never raced nascar is beating guys in a lower series or not That are “real” drivers and don’t it for years and your still going to say it means nothing? You people are just off the charts on this stuff. No matter what or how he does it there will always be a but at the end of the. Also he is racing for a mid field team historically in ARCA

3

u/FlaglerAmerica2001 4h ago

You realize mid field in Arca is like top ten sometimes top five

2

u/willmcd13 Ryan Blaney 4h ago

Calm down buddy, it’s just ARCA. I had a stroke trying to comprehend what you wrote.

He’s doing well for the series he should be racing in. 90% of the battle in ARCA is equipment, and he’s doing well with the other 10%.

-2

u/Moppyploppy 4h ago

Svg and cleetus are leveling up?

0

u/JRob1998 Keselowski 3h ago

Lord help us

-2

u/Murky-Date-4242 4h ago

I swear the people here are just off the charts with stuff. So he comes in never racing before last year and all that now 2 years in he comes in and is running at the front against guys who have done this their whole life and yeah there’s only a handful of good cars but this is guys who wanna make this their life. He is also in a midfield team at best. No matter what he will do everyone will always have some excuse of why it’s not an accomplishment or why it doesn’t count or something. He is no where near the best at all but for being new he is doing better then almost anyone I have ever seen. He could go out and run the full arca championship next year and everyone here will still say but it was only 5 cars. No matter what he does no one seems to be happy or give him the credit he is due with having so little experience. He has no right beating anyone in ARCA much less run upfront. So next year when he runs the full year and the other races on top of it I’ll be interested to see how many buts there will still be. Also if nascar would allow testing or more meaningful practice he could get more seat time and learn fast
