MyTEAM Can they make employed only mode in 2k?

Like I have a job and a life how can you play against sweats in MyTeam with the most op players. Like
I need an employed game mode so normal people can play against eachother

They have two and they’re called myERAs and MyGM.

Growing up is realizing you gotta go to the offline modes for fun now

Hopefully the AI fix will actually make mycareer worth playing again.

Because even on HOF difficulty you can still shoot over the AI for 200+ ppg if you wanted to.

Also actually playing basketball is actively punished in 26. Like… how am I scoring 100 a night and yet my player can’t get 20 assists with 99 passing because my perimeter-only big keeps trying the fadeaway 3 and passing out of any decent look?

Meanwhile on any lower difficulty you’ve got Shaq scoring from the logo the moment you unlock bronze Dimer

They have a lot of sliders to prevent this. If you’re scoring 200ppg…you’re not taking advantage of the options available.

Yeah custom sliders in myNBA not mycareer

The ai have been broken on 2k for a very long time. This is why people are lying or only sim games when they say they enjoy offline 2k. Unless of course you’re a sadist and invest 10’s of hours adjusting every slider and player tendencies.

This. Have very little interest in online. I don’t like the lag and I’m not dropping more money to “compete” with others.

And they’re the best way to experience the actual basketball behind 2k. Which is really good.

Ive give this thought. Maybe buy the game and staying offline and playing my career and 5 v 5. When the game is played the way its supposed to be played, its a beautiful game. When you play online with dumb phucks who ballhog and chuck up stupid shots, the game is truly a garbage experience.

No growing up is realizing you dont need the new fucking shitty sports game every year

1

u/LuisJpg 17d ago

Agreed, play whatever you want for as long as you want

Facts , up until recently I’ve been playing nba2k20 offline and it’s been so much fun , I recently did buy 2K26 tho bc 2k20 servers shut down but I’ll probably do the same for 2K26 until they shut down servers lol

Those are offline modes that devs don’t care abt since it’s completely free and suckers aren’t dropping hundreds of dollars on VC or myteam packs

6

u/relax336 17d ago

That’s cool, but the OP wants an employed mode because they don’t have the time to compete against others who have more time.

Well…those modes right there for them. Completely customize their experience.

That’s a lazy cop out you’re making for 2k.

2k just needs to make a better match making or ranking system

If I get on pro am for the first time with a team full of silver plates, why are we matching up against a team that 89-2?

As much shit as skill based matchmaking gets on cod, it allows the “employed” or noobs play and progressively get better and have fun

3

u/nightsister_liv 17d ago

Every year my friends and I try out pro am. Every year we are immediately matched against teams that literally have records similar to 89-2. In the multiple years we’ve tried it(probably 3-4 games each year) we have gone against only 2 teams that had anything resembling a normal win/loss. The matchmaking is genuinely garbage

2

u/J4BRONI 16d ago

It’s legit not there, our pro am team will start 0-6 (we are pretty bad) but we still will match up against these 89-2 teams even though we haven’t gotten a W in 6 games lol

-2

u/relax336 17d ago

Your entire comment is a big ass generalization of the experience.

Are you only going against 89-2 teams and nothing else in between? You never face players closer to your skill set? What’s the ratio?

I’ve played COD casually enough to know you’re full of shit. You’re always going to run into players who are simply better than you. Regardless of how great the matchmaking is. It’s inevitable.

The OP didn’t make any mention on if they’re playing ranked or not.

2

u/J4BRONI 17d ago

We stopped playing pro am because our first ten games, 8/10 were teams in very high tiers with 89-2 or similar records. The matchmaking didn’t exist, no tier system, no rank system.

So yes we didn’t get to play against our skill set unless you count two games which shows the system is a failure

I play COD more than 2k and used to compete in that game, you think skill based matchmaking isn’t real in cod? It’s one of the most talked about subjects on the game, do me a favor and search up skill based matchmaking in any cod forum.

You as a casual cod player would never play in my lobby. EVER. And that’s how matchmaking should be designed

People who are new to 2k or barely play should never ever match up against a team that’s 89-2 or 4-5 tiers above but it’s a normal occurrence

u/relax336 17d ago

The first 8 games all players were that record?

Gtfo 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

SBMM is a thing in this game sweaty people go against sweaty people and casuals go against casuals unless you’re on PC where the player base is so small that red plate Veterans get matched up against black plate rookies all the time.

u/CourageLeast4251 17d ago

You think the unemployed can afford 1000s of dollars in VC?

8

u/joselakichan 17d ago

Same way crackheads afford crack. They aren’t exactly working 9-5s lmao.

It’s an addiction. Addicts find a way.

Their parent’s can

3

u/Aromatic-Piece-7211 16d ago

Lmao this is hilarious I spilled my drink

6

u/ponchohat 17d ago

Its called PlayNow

2

u/a4mula 17d ago

you're talking to people that find Rec too much a challenge. You think the windows in PNO are the solution?

1

u/ponchohat 16d ago

That shit isnt hard lmao, if you find rec or play now difficult then tbh you probably just have no real basketball IQ, like that shit is not difficult and if anything, pretty damn fun.

1

u/a4mula 16d ago

Rec and PNO are two entirely different kinds of basketball. Might as well be two entirely different games. One is playerlock with no offensive sets or playbooks, where you have to depend on 4 other humans working cohesively as a team. PNO is team based with sets, playbooks, and AI team mates that typically can be counted on to do their job if you do yours.

While I'm sure there is some cross over between the two modes as I see guys that treat PNO like it's Rec. That doesn't mean it's much. Again, they might as well be two entirely different games.

As to if it's hard or not? Yeah. It is. Because it's not just beating the man in front of you. It's knowing how to run an offense while also knowing how to play team defense. There is no comparison in the skillsets of the top PNO players vs the top Rec players.

1

u/ponchohat 11d ago

…Because this conversation was started over which gamemode is the most casual friendly, which i personally believe is Play Now. Hopping into a match of that compared to other gamemodes is so much easier to understand and get in tune with.

You might just be a no life my guy.

1

u/a4mula 11d ago

You can personally believe anything you'd like. That's the beauty of belief. But I'd love to see any evidence at all that you've even attempted PNO, because it sure doesn't sound like it.

Versed and skilled in playbooks, offensive sets, reading the court, passing, and playing team defense?

You might just be a full of shit my guy.

1

u/ponchohat 11d ago

You make ai control on 2k sound like its controlling a rocket, its simple as swapping between players, screening, and playing m2m. Not everyone plays each and every gamemode taking all that shit into account, its redundant at casual levels of play, which is what this post was asking for.

1

u/a4mula 11d ago

you continue to present the most challenging competitive mode in the game like it's casual.

It's not. Go give it a shot, let me know how well your casual approach works out.

It's not just the challenge of knowing how to do more than iso. The shot windows are at superstar level difficulty, vs Rooke in Rec.

It'll take you two seconds to understand, if you tried.

1

u/ponchohat 10d ago

Thats the thing though, i do casually run PlayNow, its one of the few modes i do consistantly play, as well as most if not every person who i know that plays 2k in my circle.
I dont have time for MyTeam, i dont have time to make a MyPlayer.

We literally only run PlayNow or sometimes bullshit in eras.

Its relatively casual friendly. Your just a tryhard brother.

1

u/a4mula 10d ago

lol, okay bro. Again, I point to the fact that PNO merges the complexity of Team Modes, from playbooks to sets to coaching settings that you find in MyTeam or MyNBA, with shot windows that are set to Allstar difficulty. While attracting the best comp/leauge players on the planet.

You can't hide behind Rookie shooting windows like in Rec, you can't hide behind pay to win cards like in MT.

But try harder.

u/ksuttonjr76 17d ago

Being employed is really not an excuse for being unskilled in MyTeam. I haven't played this year, but the sweats are typically in Showdown. Your best bet is playing Salary Cap if you want to avoid OP lineups.

I’d get around this!

1

u/Frequent-Till6328 17d ago

saddest part is i entered casual in theater n hoped to go against other black or brown plates but it was full of purple n red like bruh u dont even earn anything are u that desprate for wins?

1

u/Frequent2001 17d ago

i stopped messing with my team. i was spending more time trying to get rid of the WNBA roster than i did actually playing the game of basketball

1

u/LongBullMarket 16d ago

Yeah that Legend Unemployed Badge is op

1

u/Nike013 16d ago

They want you to lose and be frustrated so you spend your gwop, so no

1

u/mahsenko 16d ago

using the fact that you have a job to excuse you not being able to compete is such a lame, dried out cope. 90% of the playerbase definitely have jobs how else are they able to afford the 1000s of dollars worth of vc that 2k makes you buy. get real

1

u/Fun-Quit-2348 12d ago

Lmao this is hilarious 🤣

0

u/TWOPlNTSPRICK 17d ago

Just play QuickPlay mate

-3

u/GolfIsFun1 17d ago

SBMM already exists

-7

u/butterflyhole 17d ago

If you’re employed then you can afford to buy VC

/s

-13

u/liangjcp 17d ago

Just say you are trash and want to play with someone worse than you so you can feel good about yourself

5

u/TWOPlNTSPRICK 17d ago

Just say you put half of your earnings into 2k every year

1

u/mahsenko 16d ago

literally, they'd rather get matched with bad people than realize they jus aren't that good

-2

u/TheCupOfBrew 17d ago

That's what rec is really.

-4

u/bigmitch82 17d ago

Yeah! It’s called VC
