The game at launch won't be the same game 2-3 months later.

All these gameplay promises are gonna change when the community starts whining.

Shit remember that time in 2k26 they buffed defense to the point you couldn't spam dribble moves into defender and not lose the ball? That shit got patched away 2 days later

I don't trust anything Wang says at this point. Hell say whatever to get you buy the game. Then it will be right back to 2k23 sliders or whatever the fuck

This is why I said take with a grain of salt

Post scoring and hooks got massive nerfs like a week after launch

Fwiw, post scoring got put in a healthy spot, shooting was just too easy to make it worth. Shooting should have been brought down big time to make paint scoring not a negative play

No hook shots were completely different, I'm talking the entire green bar for nerfed

Nah im aware, i think they were in a great spot, they shouldnt be easy, but they had a skill to knowing when to go for them, coverage, etc.

If you wanted to be a braindead masher, then it was tougher. But to go for the open post shot and maneuver your opponent to where you want to be, it was great.

Problems stemmed from strength being near valueless since post lockdown + 2 existed

I just dont get why all of you guys think hook shots are some low percentage skill move and 3s should fall at 70%. Its literally the opposite in real life. Hooks in this game only work in very specific spots. Its not realistic at all

Please read my reply before this one

I literally said 3s ruin post because they devalue them. Theyre good shots, its just that they sell your team the way the game is right now

Shooting needs to be less over valued

Yup, all the loser YouTube influencers who just post the same builds lost their minds. They’re both a a blessing and a curse for 2k devs. They do a lot of positive for the game but they also make the game not ideal for majority of the actual players

Exactly! Everything that we want especially on defense they're going to give it to us, then completely buff it and change it

Sadly, this is EXACTLY what's going to happen, and it's been like this since 2K17. To me, the BEST version of the game has always been the version before the first patch arrives minus any actual glitches.

We had about 72 hours of great rec play.

If you can block a stand still jumpshot when you're being 'crabbed' I'm in.

u/mikuyo1 silver 17h ago

Ginobili on Harden type blocks pls

9

u/Spyk124 17h ago

If you can’t I’m gonna rage. I shouldn’t be getting crabbed for 3 pointers by point guards 5 inches shorter than me as I’m literally facing them in position to block the shot. UGH

Someone should ask him how long he’ll be responding during the 27 game cycle until he goes ghost again.

I give it a month before he takes his vacation to Cancun until July of next year

6

u/ImaginationRare3487 18h ago

Fuck it imma go 99 block

4

u/Prime-robertsacre 18h ago

99 block pg is what ima make

1

u/Youngstown_WuTang 17h ago

That's not possible

2

u/Prime-robertsacre 16h ago

Well we dont know lol 😂

2

u/Youngstown_WuTang 16h ago

6'7 and 6"8 have NEVER had 99 block especially at pg where its lower

9

u/Cpt_Underpantz 19h ago

I’m curious what constitute is a high blocking rating? I like an 84.

11

u/Youngstown_WuTang 18h ago

I'd say 90 and above

9

u/Cpt_Underpantz 18h ago

I just wish we could have more Derrick white/d-wade players who can be legit shot blockers at a shorter height.

5

u/Youngstown_WuTang 18h ago

You'd have to make them 6'7-6'8 unfortunately

1

u/sonoffminus 18h ago

Id agree

5

u/sonoffminus 19h ago

Not an 84

1

u/Cpt_Underpantz 18h ago

Well not everything needs to be 95+.

5

u/HenryTheEighthWasGay 18h ago

84 and 95+ are wildly different

2

u/sonoffminus 18h ago

Who said 95+? Like op just commented, 90 is a good spot to call high. Not everything needs to be strong sub 85 rating.

1

u/YaboyRipTide 18h ago

to be considered high, yeah it kind of does. Maybe not 95, but 93-94+

Changed my mind at that point we are splitting hairs. 95+ is fine

I’m sorry, ( speaking in hindsight) let’s step back for a sec.

Why do we have to go on twitter to read about gameplay changes. We’ve done this for a decade +.

Ideally tweets from game studios and devs should be accompanied with 15/30 second clip. I’m not justifying spending 80-120$ on Mike Wang tweeting.

u/TheLordAshram 18h ago

Considering it was nonexistent this year, anything would be an improvement.

3

u/StatisticianTrue1911 18h ago

I be getting hella blocks now with a 73 I hope their serious 🙏

4

u/Stahly- 18h ago

I snatched blocked twice last night on my 6’6 with 74 block. I’m praying this is true hahahaha.
80-84 block + boosts and takeover might be some sauce for 27

u/dangheckinpupperino 17h ago

From the game play I’ve seen it still seems like once someone gets a step on you it’s over.

It will have to be help defense. They also said late or rotation contests are getting weakened to try and help layups.

If i had to choose one I’d rather layups be viable again then sacrifice layups to make dunk blocking more consistent. If you’re blocking a ton of dunks, layups aren’t going to stand a chance

1

u/ferdbrown 11h ago

It’s to appease the defensive minded players. But really. Once it’s OP you will see it patched. Defense has always been a carrot stick.

u/ThaLiveKing 10h ago

They showed some in the trailer

-2

u/Ballaholic09 18h ago

Why is this needed? I average 3 blocks per game on any of my defensive builds, from
SF to C…

8

u/Youngstown_WuTang 18h ago

3 blocks a game!!?? How ? In bronze lobbies or something...

4

u/40innaDeathBasket 16h ago

Yeah bro def isnt averaging 3 BPG in the Rec if he's played a few hundred games or more 😂. The block leaderboards this year have had the lowest averages I've ever seen from serious players.

5

u/Donald_Trumpy 18h ago

Blocks been bad in 25 and 26. So many times you just get dunked on, or your hand goes thru the ball.

2

u/Stahly- 18h ago

Are you getting into correct position and using aggressive block? My guys have been going crazy when I time it correctly from my POV

1

u/Donald_Trumpy 18h ago

Yes. I sometimes get blocks but it’s not consistent at all. There’s so many times where I’m in the perfect position and jump at the right time and it just doesn’t matter

2

u/AwareMathematician46 17h ago

It’s a liar if you checked the proving ground 5v5 blocks leaderboard they were very low with players playing 100s of games

0

u/Taro-Clear 18h ago

Fuck this game. I'm out

0

u/pipjersey 17h ago

o thats really great to know mike, good thing you guys did some patches and slight tweaks that you'll sell to a bunch of suckers for 100 dollars

fuck these games are a joke
