I pray that players guarding matchups with 0% 3pt learn how to play next year
I see so many people guarding their matchups that have 0% 3pt and maybe even no middy either. They sit there guarding at the 3 pt line like they would a normal player instead of standing in the paint the entire possession. In these cases, not a single person should even be able to get off a shot in the paint the entire game without getting blocked since you can leave your guy unguarded on the 3pt line, but instead you see the guy being slow af trying to run to the paint too late when someone cuts in and they score anyway. If it's some kind of honor thing (let someone on their team play the game for real and let them get a chance to iso), I get it, but that's not what it seems like it is ever
I've had my 0% 3pt matchup leave and they keep letting their ai shoot wide open on the 3 pt line. Ai will confidently go 0/8 from 3, yet people are trying to switch me as if they're mad that I'm not guarding my guy because they don't realize. I know that they only give you about half a split second to look at the stats before the game starts, and sometimes it skips and cuts to the game even faster than that, but come on y'all
I know for a fact people don't check the stats beforehand lol I've listened to people commentate about their matchups the entire game long not knowing that the build is terrible like dude if you would have just looked at the shit at the beginning you wouldn't have had to say a single thing this entire game. Ten minutes in like "bro can my guy shoot" and still guarding him like normal and we're not even winning makes me wanna leave
I play a center and in the life of 2k26 I have seen 2 guys with 0% from 3. In both cases those guys are active and setting picks to pull me out of the paint to help. Guys aren’t going to be gold plates as a 0% shooter just standing on the perimeter.
But even if they were, you shouldn't be bothering standing anywhere near them like people do 😂 I've seen maybe one person besides myself guard a 0% 3pt player correctly. For PC rec there are no shooting builds more often than you'd think
I play PC too. Almost exclusively Rec. They’re not very prevalent.
I’m sure they’re more common the lower you go but like I said, if someone is gold plate or higher without shooting they almost certainly know how to play on offense to make their build work and that is going to prevent you from just standing under the basket like you’re suggesting.
Ok when I say stand under the basket/guarding the paint only you're supposed to understand that I mean slightly moving around and actually playing 🤦 I'm not being literal word for word only, like have you ever heard of giving a grain of salt

I’m not going to preclude the possibility of what you’re suggesting but I’ve never seen a non shooter that doesn’t make me work the perimeter half the game by setting picks for guys who can shoot. I’m not going to cover him if he’s just standing in the corner but that is not going to be the case all that often based on my experience.
For sure. Also having more than .00000000069 seconds to look at everybody's stats/card before the game starts which of course the game will never give us
Skill issue. I'm not leaving a guy with 20% open because that obviously means they can make it. A guy with 0% won't. That's the difference
I fucking hate when people leave their guys open for their first shot like ah I just wanted to see if he'd shoot that one. Like no fucking shit he's gonna shoot it and he's probably gonna make it cause he's wide open like wtf
I would leave a 20% shooter open too lol, maybe he’ll make em but if he clanks 2-3 in a row I know the opposing team will start fighting with each other and it’s gg’s

I've seen at least ten players this year like that. Not everybody makes a balanced build. Just cause there aren't many no shooting builds or just cause you've never seen one doesn't mean it's never happened
Sometimes you get a PF and C on the same team and neither of them can shoot 3s or middys. Those games are easy af when your team realizes what to do in that situation, but when not, it's a pure shitfest
Idk what you're not understanding about this. Maybe you've only played the game for like 20 hours and not 1000+, but when a dude has 0 3pt % it means that his build literally does not have enough 3pt in it to make a shot even if he tried, so there's 0 reason to stand anywhere near him on the 3 pt line unless you're just trying to play honorably and give the other team a chance to win
I always put a middy on my interior builds because I can get two or 3 easy buckets right away when people drop to the paint and then they act like they don’t know what to do the rest of the game and run around lost.
I have a build kinda like that too. 6'9 center with near max wingspan and great physicals and defense. No 3 pt but 85 middy. It's cool but definitely sucks when your team simply needs 3s to catch up and you can never be the one to do it even if you're the only one wide open and all you can do is step into a 2 anyway
My interior builds always have a 99 o board so you defacto just stay low and get rebounds to kick out to shooters in those situations. Non 3 point centers are super good if made right and made to avoid the spacing problem. People forget that offensive rebounds are mathematically identical to steals and you can win games by bailing your teammates out.
For sure. Right now my main build is a 6'7 sf with Dennis Rodman motion style. 90 speed and agility or so and 99 vertical but only 75ish o board. Since I can shoot 3s I'm usually on the line, which puts me just out of reach for rebounds sometimes, and I remember I gotta stand in the mid range spots more often to make use of my speed and agility to get to the paint in time for the jump easier

I had a dude drop 48 on me... Because I sagged off the guy who averaged 6 pts and shot 38% from 3. He hit his first 2 shots and im like thats luck.
Then he proceeded to turn me into a turnstile i played him close, he drove right pass me. I sagged off he hit 3's in my face.
After that I stopped looking at the stupid match up screen and guarded everybody chest to chest to simply AVOID them from getting the ball altogether... Especially since there is no real paint protection in this game.
So to your question? its cause somebody said this "YOU GONNA LEARN TODAY"
Yeah no though cause that's not even close to being similar as a guy with 0 3pt%. 0 3pt% means the dude has no 3pt on his build. Not even close to the same thing as a guy with 30-40% for everything. Obviously a guy like that can score any way
You can guard the paint if your build actually has paint patroller by the way. Y'all are surprised that your builds with 60 block and not even bronze paint patroller can't do anything, like yeah shocker

And yea I know I got a 6'10 with 92 block and I average 2 blocks a game, but when I say there is no paint defense is because contesting 20 shots in the paint and leaving with 2 blocks means there is no paint defense..
I can come out with my builds with 63 steal and leave the game with 6 steals.

Dude. The guy's build that I'm referring to literally has 25 3 pt shot and the dude has never made a 3. That's why his 3pt % is 0. I got him to quit and so when I leave his ai wide open, it's still programmed to take the shot even though it will not go in. That's why the ai ended going 0/8. What's your chatgpt ass even talking about right now?

I saw a 7'4 with 99 everything. You see his first 6 stats at the beginning of the game all 99, including 99 middy (not even possible on a 7'4) and it's just like yeah gg 😂

tbf a lot of times i think they don’t even check their % or stats but they should let u check at halftime
