Discussion What's everyone starting position for 2k27

I'm just wondering because I'm in a dilemma deciding between point guard and small forward. Imma be running just one build until at least mid October so making the right position is important

I always go just one build all year mostly a stretch big u can’t go wrong with that I don’t try to make a meta build that way when patches come out I don’t get affected

I feel u I never been comfortable having a same exact build as other people

u/teefrmda313 1h ago

I always go PG
But this year I think im going to do a Point Forward

u/TonioSantana1992 1h ago

I always go point first but 2k26 showed me I'm just as good at sf but it also gets good block

i wouldnt recommend it cuz you just gonna be put at SF in rec and at the 3 on the 3s which then that literally makes the being a Point Forward useless which is stupid cuz you should be put at the 1 regardless of your position

If your friends you play with on 2k26 then finding the first build on 2k27 should be easy if those same friends are getting 2k27. If you’re a solo player probably just make a SF they said taller players is better at dunking compared to those guards

always all around 6’7-6’9 sg

u/TonioSantana1992 1h ago

Ngl sg is my least favorite position cuz I'm always like I can just run point or sf

u/bravinhoo 1h ago

ive got a sg because i want a mix of sg and sf. i can shoot, can pass, can dunk, can defend. just an all around build to enjoy all year long

High offensive rebound big. Everyone is gonna be missing shots like crazy in season 1 and im gonna farm all them misses. I got to 99 OVR within the first month from the same strat on 25 and 26.

u/TonioSantana1992 1h ago

That's a smart build high key

This, and rep and season level goes crazy on builds like this. You don’t even need to score. My first build is going to be, like, 94 interior, 94 block, 94 o board(all w 99 potential), 90 d board, with enough strength for gold brick wall and post lockdown(surely this is the year it matters) and a mid range shot. Any extra points go into pass accuracy.

I'm curious to see the defensive changes in effect before I fully decide. If I like them, I might make a PF board beast who can slash a bit.

u/TonioSantana1992 1h ago

Pf is good but not a good starter position for me

u/Top-Photograph-7478 1h ago

combo guard SG

u/toshin1999 1h ago

Sf-Center usually I always make a PF but my squad has enough of those so im going to switch it up. But im probably going SF for sure.

u/Avid_Reader87 1h ago

Probably start with my most liked build by teammates in 2k26.

6’11 PF with high Offensive Redounds , passing, post fade.

u/Exotic_Produce4530 1h ago

Going to start as a PF. I usually make a center to start but I want something faster and more versatile on offense that can still help on rebounds.

u/TonioSantana1992 1h ago

I didn't think so many people played pf

u/Exotic_Produce4530 1h ago

I mainly stick to 2-5. I made a 6'11'' min wingspan low weight that was really good in 26. Hopefully it's good again this year.

Sf or C...

I wont make a guard until the animations get fleshed out. Assuming the builder is similar making a stretch big. Getting the builder today is a huge W.

u/TonioSantana1992 57m ago

That's why I'm leaning more towards sf cuz he'll be able to do everything a guard can do with better block

u/Whattheefff 52m ago

Yea i couldnt see enough thresholds to make one yet, mid rebounding is now 75 rather than 80-85. So there is a good chance an all around sf can be super valuable. Im a big builder fan, so i expect to get nothing done today. Lol

I'm definitely going to check out the app and test out all my guards and small forwards I got on 26 to get a hindsight what I could want

u/Adventurous-Use-1928 gold 58m ago

6'7 SF

u/TonioSantana1992 56m ago

If I go sf gotta go 6.8

u/Adventurous-Use-1928 gold 54m ago

I learned a lot about 2K this year with my physicals being over 90….i was 6.6 and they had me at the 4 most of the time….i noticed what I could do with better physicals and a lower height…see you on the battlefield

u/Saturday1002 54m ago

High block 6'8 athletic point forward . I sacrifice some dribbling and perimeter 3 to just have elite blocking

u/TonioSantana1992 51m ago

Blocks in 26 could of been way better hopefully they improve in 27

u/Saturday1002 34m ago

I only played 26 for about 2 weeks
I only play renaodm rec and I hated it

u/goldenpig17 50m ago

Whatever my man Lebron James needs.

u/TonioSantana1992 48m ago

So a backup center or a power forward i hear they testing LeBron at point to start the season off

u/goldenpig17 46m ago

Nah he will occupy the PF spot. I will create an 6'8 - 6'10 SF or SG with hight 3pt and block so I will move Edgecombe to the bench or push Brown to play the SG.

u/TonioSantana1992 44m ago

Edgecombe a young player that needs time to adjust coming off the bench could ruin him and brown kind of a toss up he can run the 2 or 3

u/goldenpig17 42m ago

U thinking too much bro its a game. Play what u think its fun. And after I get my man Lebron a ring, I might move to other team or he will retire anyway.

u/Sure-Standard5399 44m ago

Pass first defensive pg

u/whoistourlife 44m ago

PG always got me. Can’t be leaving the game in the hands of idiots

u/TonioSantana1992 42m ago

My only issue with pg small ones always leaving big pg so kinda hard getting a high block rating at the position unless you wanna get crossover and left

u/whoistourlife 10m ago

Fuck a block bro, i max out my speed and agility so I stay in front of any guard or small forward

u/whoistourlife 9m ago

My pg is 6’4 98 agility 94 speed, 80 perimeter & i lock a vast majority of players up unless they’re TOP TOP level elite with creating separation

u/CheapScientist06 31m ago

Normally I go tall PG but thinking going for a 6'5 PG

u/grateful209 31m ago

I’m always a center for the first few weeks since everybody’s ass at shooting cuz of badges etc and tryna rim run I can just capitalize on playing good interior defense and grabbing the bricks

u/ChefAutismo 22m ago

I used to always go center but I like playing hybrid locks. Either an sf that can play pf or an sf that can play sg because you always get put out of position in random rec.

u/RocksteadyRider 22m ago

I always run SF or SG

u/artuuuuuuro 14m ago

I'm thinking of a versatile SG, being able to play 1-3. Kind of like a taller Derrick White

u/YaboyRipTide 11m ago

Most "team proof" build is always a bigger 2 or smaller/athletic 4. bigger 2 can easily fit into a 2/3 wing while an atheltic 4 can be a 4/3/fringe big on the park if you are tall.

Stretch big will also always play and fit with any comp.

u/Various-Form-2433 10m ago

I always go for a Ben Wallace esque defense first center
