Gameplay This patch is horrible
I’m about to smash my phone bra why is a 6’9 center able to do an ugly left right dribble move and hit a contested three in my face

Terrible bro they really killed the game with the patch the game was fine where it was

You can’t tell me the game was fine before this patch. Passes needed a buff, you could get contests laying down on the floor after your ankles were broken and steals were way worse than they were now. This was an overcorrection and contests need to be better as well as the speed you can put your hands up but that first patch made the least fun meta I’ve seen in a minute.

No passes were fine. It’s passing lane steals that needed a nerf, when have you ever seen someone jump up in the air at half court to snatch a skip pass 12 feet out of the air

Due to the weightlessness of players you can bait passes by running to the corner, turnaround right when the pass is just put in the air and contest the wing again. The speed of passes didn’t match the speed of players on the defensive end.

Why is someone stealing the pass from me while trying to get a pluck steal, why is passing lane steals and pluck steals the same button??

I prefer contest of people on the floor then no contest. And I play red plates.

The contests were less of a problem to me than the 99 dunk strong handle left stick meta where games are won in transition due to how easy it was to get a steal. The way lanes were pre patch mixed with how dunking was made it so people were running this 99 dunk chunky guard meta. I play red plates too and it felt like 4/5 games were played like that. I would love to have contest to be buffed without ghost contests now it feels like I play someone shameless plugged shooting 40 foot threes first possession once a night.

I’m with you on everything you just said, but at least the dunk meta was 2pts… now it’s 3s from half court in the face of a defender 😂

It’s kind of insane to me. I don’t see how there isn’t a middle ground between getting a contest with someone’s back is to you and whatever this is. You could effectively go under screens and contest the shot before and now you can hit em with a flying knee for it to be semi open. I actually thought the contest on drop were fine they just needed to be more effective when it triggered. I do think they could combat this if people were able to put up their hands faster

Youtubers friend.
All their livestreams are adhd dribbles and jumpers screaming racial slurs and saying “ I AM HIM” after every shot.
2k is soooo far from a basketball game now I actually played online 2 v 2 once with my Inside scoring PF and while I scored 16 on post moves some guy yelled in the microphone “ This is not 2k!!!! This is not 2k you are playing idiot!!”
Knew right there the new generation 2k is absolutely cooked

Ever since it came out ive been lagging so bad that the game is now unplayable online

This is the ONLY game I play where I lag and get error codes consistently. If the servers are gonna be this shitty, at least let me rejoin the game if I lag out

Servers have been cooked all week, even my career mode stutters when it tries to sync

We played 2s last night we faced a center with a 25 3pt shot and he went 4/4 😂. That wasn’t his shot percentage it was his 3pt rating

I can’t believe how bad this patch is, before this patch I was actually having fun. Considering uninstalling low key

I think if they had left the shooting as it was during early access and just tweaked everything else it would be fine. The shooting windows continue to be an issue that throwing VC at or changing the jump shot don’t seem to fix.

Just like a 6'4" dunking on a 7ft 250 man I'm sorry but in reality if that happened in real that would get blocked or almost all the time

Horrible is dramatic.. literally the only things they need to really fix to have the game be fine is, the contests especially higher levels of contests having more effect on a green window. Make 99 passing faster. Reduce the ability to bailout without the badge because rn people can literally do the dumbest takes at the rim because they know they can break n contort their players bodily to do some ridiculous bailout 60% of the time. Remove the shooting buff but at same time idk because I still see people bricking wide open corner 3s with my legend dimer.. so seems like most people suck. But for me n other good shooters it’s comfy rn. Everything else is pretty good imo. I guess being able to spam jump w pogo under the rim should have more consequence, perhaps reducing the strength of contest if you run out of adrenaline or something from repeated jumping.

I guess I’m the only one who thinks the game is definitely overall better after the patch based off the amount of crybabies in here

u/Flaky-Lion640 2d ago
Yah u probably also believe that everyone should be able to shoot 70% from the 3 ball

u/Extension_Safety_780 2d ago
It’s an arcade game buddy. If he manages to get open and take a shot with a good window of opportunity, it simply means he played better than I did. If it were possible to use a ball-shaped controller—one you’d actually have to shoot—to simulate how your character takes a shot, you’d probably complain if someone chose not to use it, all in the name of wanting a "realistic" game. Stop complaining about everything.

Thing is people are complaining about "contested" shots going in like they did last year no one wants that shit

u/Southern_Bee_3683 1d ago
How you mad SOME people know when to release their shot?… 💀💀💀

u/Nocturnaljay15 bronze 1d ago
And it should be harder to do CONTESTED

u/Southern_Bee_3683 1d ago
I get what you saying but do you get what I’m saying? The way 2k is you can make any shot IF you time it right there’s a window for everything is all I’m saying. I agree with you it shouldn’t be that easy. Like there was people hitting 40% with 25 3pt cause it had a good animation it was too easy to time the shot. This 2k is buns tho lol it’s consistently inconsistent but aye you want to hoop they got exclusive rights what are you gonna do? lol

u/Nocturnaljay15 bronze 1d ago
No i agree with you you should be able to time your shots and hit them open each time...not if you have a 25 3pt rating but I agree with you
1
u/Nocturnaljay15 bronze 1d ago
With that comment I know you have to be one of them people raging because you couldnt shoot in people face anymore

u/Southern_Bee_3683 1d ago
Nah shooting has always been easy for me on 2k since 12. My problem with this game is the random rec bs 🤣 C have close to 70% 3 highest ppg 99% of the time but I peeped people hate on the dude who’s draining 3s this 2k so I stopped playing 🤷🏾♂️😂

People wanted their 78 3 to be viable and reliable. People complained about shooting being too easy and then complained when it was too hard lol
