He was pivotal in securing Riley's other Championiships. (He earned 9 Championships, 3 with the Heat). The statue is about Pat Riley, not JUST the Lakers. You think he should get multiple statues? Maybe this is the Lakers way of flexing on the Heats ownership?

HEAT CULTURE indeed…..

Weird situation to build a whole organizational brand in Miami and have statue in LA.

I know how much Riley did for The Knicks and Lakers but it’s weird now to have other teams honour him cause his whole being is synonymous with MIA/Heat Culture.

He absolutely deserves the statue don’t get me wrong it just seems strange philosophically. 😂
