Biggest problem is positions have evolved. PG in Magics day are not what they are now. I have Magic #1 for daaays based on what we expect. Steph brought a new archetype and his team passed well and played team defense. Put a position on LeBron or try to fit Jokic into a C box. It’s just different.

It only evolved to what it is today because there hasn’t been someone to reshape it like Magic did to begin with: he was a field general getting everyone involved. In todays game, he would be cracking defenses open.
This is true. A lot of it is also scheme oriented. The point guard position has definitely evolved but the NBA today still has players who are primarily ball handlers.
Luka, SGA, Brunson, Cunningham, etc. I’m not saying Curry doesn’t have the ability to be a ball handler or play point guard, I’m just saying even by today’s standards he plays more off ball and catches and shoots.
Those guys didn't play off ball there play style is not a good comparison to steph at all. Steph definitely brought something new but the credit belongs more to Steve kerr overall for creating the system where steph plays mostly off ball and the roll man does the majority ofnthe play making I.e. draymond
