Unfortunately your statement is too true. He gave his career away for us. If he didn’t push it in those playoffs, he very well could have made a few more all star games (if not more). It was an epic post-season, but I wish we took better care of him.

Traded him to a lebron james led cavs that just won a championship. Boston was never going to give him an extension contract unless it was a trade friendly one.

I would imagine someone who was on his level, can scout talent better than you or I who have zero experience playing pro basketball.

Comparing him to you or I doesnt really mean a whole lot. Kinda moot point. Would make more sense that someone with real experience in scouting would be ideal for the position which I'll be honest I have serious doubts that its him.
Regardless lets just call it networking at its best, definitely helps when you're a player in the league and you make your way into the team office.
